Fans Upset After Gladys Knight Cancel Appearance with Isley Bros.

http://www.clickondetroit...etail.html

Concert goers are upset after Gladys Knight cancels because of an illness. The concert featuring Gladys Knight and the Isley Brothers at the Fox Theatre drew a nice size crowd, but once fans found out that Knight wasn't going to be there, many demanded a refund. Fans were greeted by a sign that said Knight wouldn't be there and that the Isley Brothers would perform as scheduled. The upset fans poured onto the sidewalk outside the theatre and waited several hours for a refund. "I think it's ridiculous; they should have let us know ahead of time; They had plenty of time, they could have even put it on the radio or on TV," said ticket holder Alda Jones. After a couple of hours of waiting, ticket holder Scott Aylward said, "Ticketmaster will give people a refund." Though many fans were upset, some fans stayed behind and watched the Isley Brothers.

Wow... I hear Ernie is back performing with Ron now. I think there was a video of them performing together on YouTube.

That would be on the heartbreaking side. After all it is Gladys Knight. After all the Fox Theatre is awe some; I cannot imagine a better venue. And shoot, gasoline, parking, clothes, etc. and so on, it is not always so inexpensive going to a show these day.

Folks should have been alerted as soon as possible; you can't avoid her absence/illness, but you could avoid the expenses in time and money. But Ticketmaster could have been trying to fill the bill with a qualified alternate and were unalbe to do so. Or, they could have delayed telling people in the hope that they would go ahead on in and use the ticket to see the Isleys and give leave the refund stacks alone.

They could have called Anita and asked her could she fill in? She probably would have showed up 3 hours late like she usually does. lol

I will never forget a concert I "tried" to see of Anita Baker's, a few years ago at the DTE Music Theater. Traffic leading to the venue was backed up for miles. It took a good two hours to roll up to the gate for parking and by the time the car I was in made it to the venue. The police had closed the gates and were directing traffic right past it, to the freeway!

Talk about being mad and pissed

She's another one on my "I wouldn't look out the window to see their happy ass, if they performed for free...in my backyard!" list. ohgoon

I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

Knowing how ol' dude fucked her financially last year, she will resort back to the Humble Pie diet and who knows? Maybe she'll be booked to sing in a birthday party, maybe in your backyard too lol

I think that comment was in reference to Anita, not Gladys.

How was the Isley Brothers performance? I wanted to go but I didn't want to see Gladys. Dont get me wrong I love her music but they should have had someone else with the Isley. They are the masters of baby making music and putting her in the mix was like ewwww...... lol lol lol

As Harle, Timmy, and some others know, my mother abhors Anita Baker's singing. My mother says, Ms. Baker sings and sounds like someone who has a mouth full of mash potatoes. What took her disgust to another level, is when Baker said Sarah Vaughan was a major influence. talk to the hand My mom was too through...

lol
