I think the focus here is on her music though...even though there's nothing wrong with being active and passionate in your beliefs etc

Sinéad is/was wacky. But her music has meat on its bones. There is substance there.

I'd put Sinéad, Ani DiFranco, and Meshell Ndegéocello in a studio for 4 months to see what they'd come up with.
This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

Count me in as a huge Sinead fan also! I can't even begin to list a favorite song or album. Although I'm still stuck on Faith and Courage lately...

I liked her first single Mandinka or something like this, her version of NCTU is one of the greatest thing of the 20 th century imo, but after her 2nd album then she has released a boring jazz record no Sinead jazz is not for you, in the mid 90s she has released one that sounds like Bjork...
The question is: What happened exactly whith Prince?
Their "fight" smile was supposed to happen in late 90-early 91 I think but Prince thanks her in D& P liner note, so question
Newsflash: Sinead has just declared to be the mum of the secret 13 years old daughter of Prince exclaim her name is Mangjtovitylididia (= simplicity in sanskrit)

Don't you remember when she teared up a giant picture of the Pope on tv , screaming hysterically "this is the enemy!!!"I wonder if it was Prince's inspiration to write "Pope" smile
"I'd put Sinéad, Ani DiFranco, and Meshell Ndegéocello in a studio for 4 months to see what they'd come up with." + Wendy and Lisa lick , I wish it would be my studio, I like 2 watch (although I would be afraid of Sinead)

A couple of years back, Sinead was on the Graham Norton show (UK, Channel 4). She told him that she visited Prince's home around the time NC2U was a hit, and he started criticising her for using bad language in interviews etc. (pot, kettle, black). They wound up having a pillow fight- no, really- and P kept stuffing the pillow down into the case, to make it as hard as possible and inflict maximum damage. She also said that she likes him far better these days (this was about two years ago), but followed it by remarking that she is also a better actress than she once was. What that means I do not know, but they both performed NC2U in the same arena in Dublin in the past few months, and Mother Bernadette won hands down- she actually sang the all of the lyrics for starters. Prince should never have attempted to reclaim that song- his renditions just sound schmaltzy next to Sinead's sublime reading.

Yes I remember it..what does that have to do with her music though? And even if she did wht she did she felt passionate about her beliefs and went ahead and did what she wanted to..gansgta style too. Talk about the possibility of alienating a large portion of your audience over your convictions..whats wrong with that?

I think She is a Very Solid Artist&Never tried to be anything She was not.Her Albums are Consistant&what I Like about Her is that no matter what is happening in music be it Sampling or Looping She never Sounds like She is trying to Be a part of it but She brings it into Her own Style&Makes it work.you might not go for Her Behavior or choices at a Certain time but you truly Respect How She goes about Her work.

Prince says some stupid shit in interviews too. People don't buy albums because of the personality of the artist or the opinions behind it. I like Sinéad because she has produced some incredible music throughout her career. Whatever bullshit she comes out with in interviews is of no interest to me.

A pillow fight?? That is NOT the story she told in 1991.She was very pissed at Prince and accused him of "threatening to beat the shit out of me".Apparently she went to visit him at his home and they got into a big argument."His problem is that I did a song of his ("Nothing Compares 2 U") without him being involved",she said."He's jealous. And he did say to me that he wished I had never done his song.I think that, frankly, that song saved his fucking ass.He was in serious financial trouble until that song happened".

That doesn't sound like a fun, silly pillow fight to me wink

"I've been raped the day of my conception" Sinead, well rolleyes
ok let's talk about the music recently celtic music was "à la mode" and by chance she releases an album of classsic celtic song... , I think that behind her passion, her so called integrity she's very fake but that's only my opinion.. (a great underrated singer: Lisa Germano)

yeah it was Pretty serious from what I recall Her saying.I think Prince was Mad not only only because She Scored such a Big Hit with it but also that His Former Manger&O'Connor's at the time Steven Fragnoli Hooked Her Up with the Song&Prince must have felt this was a Slap to the Face some how?
