Of course both of these guys are SUPERB singers, but if you had to choose one, which do you prefer?????

DrHeat

Vocals - Maxwell

Lyrical Content - Bilal

It should be Maxwell vs Musiq or Dwele vs Eric Roberson.

Maxwell, hands down.

Could never really get into Bilal that much, but his newest project was surprisingly good.

They are very different musicians.

I'm comparing two Bilal records against five Maxwell records.

1-Maxwell's voice is more traditionally attractive.

2-Maxwell's songs are more easily digestable.

3-Bilal's lyrics are more interesting.

4-Bilal's composition/musicality is more interesting.

and

5-Maxwell is more reliable on stage. (Though getting less so).

I like them both, for different reasons.

Bilal in a nutshell. His voice/material possess more edge which is right up my alley.

I like Maxwell, but his stuff is a bit safe in comparison to Bilal.

Not even his "Love For Sale" album?

Hated that album when it got leaked, couple of years later, it became one of my faves. I'm sure I'll feel the same way about his latest album, in a couple of years lol His music is NOT easy to digest for me, but after awhile when everything clicks, I drool music

Love for Sale just didn't click with me that much. His newest one, Airtight's Revenge is cool, freaky and experimental, but he keeps that soulful style. His voice actually suits the songs on that record and that's the sole reason why it's the only album I could hear from him beginning to end.
