A sho-nuff ass shaker that inspired Prince's "Erotic City" a year later and The Bronner Brothers' "That's It (Don't Stop)" a few years later. Hell, I even hear it in Angela Winbush's "Run To Me" also.

This song cracks me up!

Is DJ Brotha Finess still about? I remember him from the days of the PPML back in 97.

The Bronner Brothers'

I just remember them selling their hair products in Right On! and Black Beat. smile

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

This song seemed like it always came on whenever my good buddy and I would be kicking back at his place, drinking a few beers and sharing a toke or two. We couldn't wait for them to get to the line "If you want to be rich..." lol because that's when we'd turn to each other, point, and finish the line, lol. That was my buddy Mike.

Mike passed away a few years back, but every time I hear this song it brings a smile to my face. We had good times!

Who knew these were danish kats. If we applied stereotypes (like some do around here), these dudes should be banished for daring create music that didn't fit people's preconceived notions of the dutch.

Laid Back has a bunch of albums out there too. I have about 8 of them, and I know there are a lot more. It's amazing that this was one of their few hits.

I don't have any notions about Dutch people, because I've never heard anything about them, so never thought about them. I don't recall the Dutch being brought up with anyone I've been around, not even the teachers at school.

Same here. But when I first heard this song, I automatically knew they weren't from the States.

Love the video, too! biggrin Whenever I hear this song, I cannot sit still!

Wrong terminology my dude.

Danish people are from Denmark.

Dutch people are from Holland (The Netherlands).

Classic Dance tune. They usually paired it with it's sister track in the clubs back in the day:
