New Mint Condition Peep the album: http://www.centrictv.com/...ndition-7/ Since its on centric tv, this is obviously a LEGIT PREVIEW STREAM and NOT a bootleg. Maybe this is part of the payment for them being the house band during those "Back In The Day" shows that they just did. It sounds hot. I like it. MINT is back! I'll be buying this on the 5th. They left me a whole lot of room for my GC23 remixes. I was hoping 4 a hard rock track but that's okay. I'll create my own.
Can't wait 4 next week. I'm going 2 be quite busy remixing this lil puppy. [Edited 3/30/11 8:38am]

They'll probably made a rock song as one of the 5 bonus tracks, which is only sold at Best Buy. I'm hoping they put a rock song as a bonus track. Other than that, This is a solid Mint album. "Twenty Years Later", "MindSlicka", "Can't Get Away", "Walk On", "Ease the Pain" & "Bossalude" will be on HEAVY repeat. "Caught My Eye" has already been slaughtered by the repeat button.. lol

I hope so........nobody rocks it like Mint. I'll be late getting 2 work on Tuesday.....gotta stop at Best Buy 1st.

Thanks for posting BlaqueKnight! I needed this.
What stood out for me were:
Can't Get Away (love the moog) Do I hear a hint of The Family's Screams of Passion on the verses?
Bossalude - Gotta love their ability to go there! Great melody on the steel drums. (which will probably be stuck in my head the rest of the day, thank you very much).
20 Years Later - Again, shows their diversity. Great to hear Stokley scattin'.
Walk On - Nice ballad, nice groove.

Funk, rock or ballad? | |

@phunkdaddy You probably saw it on Soulbounce, Singersroom or SoundCloud
@Graycap23 "Ease the Pain" has type Al Green type of funk to it. One of the best songs on the album without a doubt. Should be the 2nd single or "Can't Get Away" or "Walk On" should be the 2nd single. [Edited 3/31/11 0:31am]

I agree with all this DNickz. That's why i dig Ease The Pain a lot. It immediately reminded of some old Al Green funk. Love this cut but history indicates that Mint doesn't release uptempo songs as singles but i'm cool with the other two you mentioned as the next single as well. As for Ease The Pain, one can only hope. Don't laugh at my funk

Shoot, I pre-ordered from Amazon...
Guess I'll have to get another for the car from Best Buy. I don't mind giving Mint a little extra money, though. They earned it. They are one of only a handful of artists where I buy their records on the day of release...or at all.

I listened 2 E-life then listened 2 the new joint. Wow............E-life can't touch the new joint with a 10 foot pole.

I appreciate the fact that they continue to get better.

That's good to know... I liked E-Life, but it doesn't rank up there as one of my favorites. My favorite track on there was the bonus track Let It Go, which sounds like a leftover from the Definition Of A Band sessions.

I still dig E-life but the difference is shocking 2 my ears. I can't wait 2 hear those bonus tracks.

Thanks for posting. Some very good tracks, particulalry walkon and ease the pain. So glad for Mint.

"Ease The Pain" is on some serious deep south Al Green funk/soul groove shit.
Listening again today, I had to mention that I love the moog sound on "I Want It" too. Reminds me of The Gap Band.
MC keeping funk alive!

I agree. I actually thought they took a step back with E-Life after Livin the Luxury Brown. I remember seeing Stokley commenting after E-Life's release that some fans stated that they didn't like it as much but it was cool as long as they felt something. Don't laugh at my funk
