I still don't trust him, cause he is in the idustry and has occult symbols in some of his videos.

eek He does? What videos? I honestly didn't notice.

Seems like nobody can get a video on these days without it being branded.

Lupe was born and raised a muslim his real name is Wasalu Muhammad, he also has a black belt in Karate 7, but what comes to mind is would all the comments still be "This shit is fire!" or "Lupe is the truth" if it they had come out of the mouth of some arab/muslim rapper with a beard or even ur african american rapper like Freeway or Brother Ali???, or does he have to be a hippy with swag like Lupe (No hate btw fan since F&L), Im just curious.

I knew Lupe was a Muslim when I started this thread. His religion is not relevant when it comes to his rap skills and his message. Many people feel the way he does and have said some of the same things as he did in the song, including myself. Its a common sentiment among some people. I'm glad to see him maturing into who he is today. I had gripes with dude when he was so disrespectful to Tribe Called Quest after their tribute and was wondering if he was a "fiasco" himself because the messages in his music conflicted with the attitude he was displaying at the time. He's finally growing up and his music is growing, too. Its always good to see progress.

That was not my point bruh, 'one' of the reasons he said those bars is beacuse he is a muslim dont deny that but my main point was if this came from an arab/muslim rapper would u still say he was speaking the truth or would you just lash out like many others would and iam not talking bout u btw.

TotalAlisa please stop talking crap lupe is a Muslim and practices his religion just like Freeway, Brother ali, Stalley and many rappers in the industry do, he's just more of a secular muslim, Ive read in a couple of interviews that he doesnt drink or smoke and he doesnt screw groupies after his shows and so on and if he has occult symbols in his video please post the video and point some out before making false comments.

As for the whole record company "fiasco" LOL, Lupe was pissed with Atlantic, which just so happens to be owned by Warner Bros over the constant delaying of his third album, Lasers, for the last couple of years, why? beacuse they wanted Radio friendly material when Lupe was giving them all this complex shit like Dumb it down or debut album material Food & Liqor where he talked about Robots and Rainbows, “I am a hostage,” lupe said. “I gave them what they wanted. If I didn’t, at the end of the day the album wasn’t coming out", the deal seemed to have worked both ways, it was lupe's first number one album with his first single going gold in its first week. Atlantic records did the same stunt with B.O.B on his debut album.

Anyways for us Lupe fans his next album "The Great American Rap Album” was recorded simultaneously with Lasers and is a different sound according to Lupe it should be released by the end of this year and then after a greatest hits

You know if it was an Arab or as "they" like to say Aye-Rhab, it wouldn't even be heard and if it was it would be met with all kinds of hostility and the youtube video would be filled with comments like "You are just mad because Obama got Osama" and "go blow yourself up" because the television has told these sheeple who they need to hate and they just follow along.
