Nice tune.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

New huh? I don't believe it. Kay and his current crew can't groove like this. This got Tody and Stuart's fingerprints all over it.

So, if Toby and/or Stuart don't sue I guess that would be an indication that their fingerprints are not on this song, right? Or maybe it means they were wearing gloves when they wrote it......biggrin

JUST SMILE........

This song is fire biggrin ! I've been wanting to hear some "classic sounding" Jamiroquai for a minute.

While it does sound old, I think it's a newer track. The only reason I say this is because this is too good to not release on their/his last two albums. "Rock Salt Light Must"..oops! I mean ", "Rock Dust light Star" could have really used this song....and maybe a few others too.

Where's the "Microphone Gun" when you need it?!?!

I take it you like the song, but you just don't want to give writing credit to the current Jamiroquai incarnation. That's cool. I don't care who wrote it. I like it. And if I like it ......I listen to it wink

I absolutely adore "Smile". I've had it on repeat for days. It produces a joy within me; a high; an elevation of spirit I have rarely, if at all, gotten from a new Jamiroquai recording this (or the previous) decade. I have no idea who wrote "Smile", played on it, or when it was recorded. When the authorship of this song is made public, I will have no problem giving credit where it's due. Until then I'm simply making a speculative observation for the bemusement of total strangers based on my reception of the band's post-TWM output that I find it hard to believe this song, which was presented to me as a new song, is such. It captures, what I think, they do [or did] best. And beyond all that, the song straight up sound like it was recorded during the late 1990's; pre-Synkronized.

Cool track. This is one of those groups that puts out music I like but I don't own any of it. At a local shop I heard a track yesterday that sounded like Jamiroquai or Maroon 5. music Funky uptempo track that I was grooving to while browsing. But the employees didn't know thatartist when i asked.... neutral

I am not feeling this song as it reminds me of Seven Days in Sunny June- a picnic song. This song really does song like a Toby/Tody from some years ago.

This song may have some of Toby's influence in it, but it doesn't have any of Tody's influence at all. Tody - in my opinion - is overrated. I think a thread needs to be started about just how overrated he is biggrin His stuff is so lame that I can't name any of it biggrin

PS. YOU DON'T LIKE THE SONG!! WHAT???

The link below is supposed to be Paul Turner's response to the fans reaction to "Smile" and the process it took to create it. Of course, this could be a fan just being funny........see link

Assuming this is true.....I have to give props to Jason Kay and Matt Johnson for this year's summer anthem SMILE!

Beutiful song.......

Not only do I dislike Smile but the entire album is not good. If not for Jay Kays voice, I would not have known it was a Jamiroquai album because it nothing funky like the past. What happened to the funk?

Are you referring to 'Rock Dust Light Star'? I think songs like "All Good In The Good" and "She's A Fast Persuader" are as funky as anything they did in the past.

Yes. For the first time in my life, I want a refund on a Jamiroquai album. Ick!

Really? Most fans seem to think it's a return to form.
