It was so unexpected and she seemed on the verge of a new career and outlook on life. The circumstances surrounding her death were wierd as well. One of the passengers was videotaping Left Eye and she was driving that Mitsubishi Montero which is a huge and generally safe vehicle. She was the only one in the car to die. Just strange. She left behind a daughter I believe.

She also was the only one wearing a seatbelt.

eek

WOW I always thought it was the other way around.

Left Eye was a beautiful, unique and talented individual. I still think her verse in "Waterfalls" is one of the best and most inspirational verses in a rap song or song period. She was great and her life was cut way too short. I miss her sad

Incredible talent, and I miss her very much. Maybe just the morbid curiosity, I felt I shouldn't watch that video back when they released but I did anyway. It shook me very deeply. It's like you couldn't even believe that you're literally seeing someone's final moments of existence.

There was a theory that she committed suicide out of guilt for the little boy that was killed by the car that she was in with her assistant previously, in Honduras. I don't personally think she did...but it's certainly the kind of thing that can really make you have a breakdown.

The film also captured a car accident in which Lopes was a passenger and her assistant was the driver: "It was dark when the car driven by Lopes's assistant left the village. It is commonplace for people to walk the roads that wind through Honduras, and it's often difficult to see pedestrians."[28] "Ten-year-old Bayron Isaul Fuentes Lopez walked into the path of the van driven by Lopes' personal assistant. The child had been trailing after his sisters and brothers and stepped off the median strip at the last minute."[29] The boy was hit. "Lopes' party stopped and found the boy critically injured. They loaded him into the car, and Lisa, ever the caretaker, cradled the dying boy's bleeding head in her arms. Someone gave him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation as they rushed him to a nearby hospital." Lopez died the next day and Lopes paid for his medical expenses and funeral.[30] Lopes is shown in a local funeral home choosing a casket for the child. Earlier in the documentary, Lopes mentioned that she felt the presence of a "spirit" following her, and was struck by the fact that the child killed in the accident shared her last name, even thinking that the spirit may have made a mistake by taking his life instead of hers." While her assistant was never charged with any wrongdoing, Lopes later compensated the family for their loss."[30] The program also showed the last minutes of Lopes's life, including her swerving off the road.[15

I think she was a really unique and gifted individual with a lot of demons. It's interesting to me, you know, she had the least "vocal time" on TLC's albums but she was undoubtedly the star, the creative force. I mean, I like Chilli and T-Boz plenty, but Lisa was really something special.

i was never into TLC, or much of the stuff out of atlanta, or on la/face... i never followed their personal lives or dramas, but i did watch 'the last days of lisa lopes' after militant's mention of the film... i didn't even know she had an association with dr. sebi... as did michael. both of them in many ways were similar. they both dedicated their lives to children. they both had ginormous beautiful brown eyes. they were both spiritual people, who also questioned the nature of that spirituality. people said both of them were crazy. both were looked at for their fashion sense. both had difficult childhoods. and it seemed like both knew they were not here for much longer.

she was 30??!! she looked like she was 17, without all the make-up. she looked like she was getting her life together. it's good she acknowledged the struggles, and worked towards solutions. her speaking about her battles with depresiion was sad to see. i was not aware of her political work. wow.

here is this though... that is crazy. somebody finally stood up to clive davis. then of course, the fallout began- or did it happen before that event?

i wish they had followed through with that album The Challenge or whatever where all 3 were supposed to submit a disc and they would see which ones were preferred. lisa was pretty fired up at them for a minute.
