My brutha n' law saw me listening 2 this LP yesterday and was supriced at how his young sistah n' law playing that ol' school shit while the new school shit is available "I still love you Lester " anyway, he listened 2 it and said that its "aight,,matta o' fact its off the chain comparing 2 whats out there BUT its not powerful as his previous LPs" don't know what does he ment by saying "powerful" becoz I haven't followed Bootsy's music from the start, I happen to respect him as a bass liner 4 James Brown and George Clinton tho. Anyway,,I loved the LP as a general, I've been playing it non-stop eva since I picked it from the mail(Thats b4 yesterday)

1.Groove Eternal-This is the MAIN reason why I bought this mofo, def the BEST song from there. Pure 80's jam that take you back to the early 80's(1982) when the Minneapolis sound was the shit.'

2.Dance To The Music-Another killer jam that makes me THINK that its Prince singing in there.

3-Don't Let 'em Bring You Down-With the exception of the chorus, the song is tight. Its sho is good 2 hear Rosie's voice again and with new different style(More JAZZY) and more low-key groove.

4-A Life 4 Da Sweet Ting-Funky # with a powerful message.

Overall,,I'm digging the rest of the LP and it won't be long till I dig the LP as a "whole".

Yeah I like it overall, lot of fun jams. Sadly Bootsy has now claimed he's retiring from touring though.

I've not heard this album yet though to be truthful i never really got into Bootsy. I have his first three albums and whilst they have some good tracks on, it all seems a bit all over the place. Munchies For Your Love is my fave Bootsy song.

not really feeling His New one that much.I'm Bias to His 70's Stuff far to much.his last few albums have been like a Quincy Jones Santana type thing with Him feeling slots&space IMHO.

It's pretty good, but I can do without all the rappers.

Rap/Hip-Hop is such an old genre, lets hope in 2003 we final see it resigned to the side lines of popular music.

Nah, Rap/Hip-Hop ain't the newest genre, and it sure has reached maturity - as the dominant genre in pop at the moment - which means only one way to go, down, just like every other musical movement.

I can't see it going anytime soon, hip-hop has garnered consistent popularity rather than being a casual trend. Production within the genre always moves on and adapts and whilst the chart fodder doesn't represent this, it's one of the few viable music forms which carries a "message".

Going back to the subject a bit, I think this is a great cd. There are a couple of songs that sound like tributes to his older stuff, but on the whole this is a fun thing to listen to. I also love that Lady Miss Keir has come out of hiding 'Tired of good' such a tune! The liner note says that backing vocals on groove eternal are by Bobby Womak, but no matter how many times I listen to it, it just keeps sounding like Prince! Even the little Sexy Dancer keyboards-whats going on!

it's just more accesible than his other albums, a more commercial sound.
