Aww, come on. Is every documentary filmed in b&w a Truth or Dare rip? If it were in color people would still be saying the same thing. She can't win. I mean, she is totally winning (in the immortal words of Charlie Sheen), but, you know what I mean.

There's something about what I've seen of Gaga as a person that I like alot.

But I don't know that I buy her saying that she was an outsider in high school because from all the yearbook pics and pre-fame pics I've seen of her, it looks like she was pretty much either one of the generally-accepted kids, or maybe even a member of the popular cliques in school. She didn't look like she was the oddball that got constantly shit on during classes, at all.

I think this may be a reference to something I wrote. I just want to clarify that I never claimed that Lady Gaga stole anything from Madonna so I hardly could have said it was ok for her to steal from Madonna.

Now, maybe she did rip off "Express Yourself," I can't say for certain either way, but to my ears I do not hear the similarity.

For the life of me, I can't either. How in the hell does "Ooh there ain't no other way, baby I was born this way" sound like "If you want it right now, make him show you how..."?

The only similarity is the chords. If you sing them both, they follow the same progression. But Gaga's song has more syllables during the chorus. Nothing else is the same between the songs.

Christ, it's not like Madonna invented these chords! They're pretty basic. If we did our research we could probably find a lot of songs with the same or very similar chords.

Right. TLC's "Waterfalls" has a similar chord progression as well.

Right. TLC's "Waterfalls" has a similar chord progression as well.

The chorus is a little rough there, but those verses sound almost perfect. LOL

I gotta say the religious undertones are beginning to grate.

First with the "god makes no mistakes" line in the chorus of "born this way" and now the second single being all about one jesus's disciples.....it's funny because gaga thinks she's some sort of all-inclusive role model but when you do stuff like this, you're being exclusive to western religious philosophy. It's becoming obvious that she went to a catholic school, and it's a little unnerving.

I don't recall there being any religious references in "just dance", "poker face", "paparazzi", "telephone", "bad romance"..... they were just good songs. no pandering to certain demographics either, the way "born this way" is a blatant pander to the LGBT community.

My cousin said "rather than widening her scope, she's limiting it".

Oh yeah, cause Judas is so religious. lol

For some reason, these particular verses are a turn on ...

In the most Biblical sense, I am beyond repentance

Fame hooker, prostitute wench, vomits her mind

But in the cultural sense I just speak in future tense

Judas kiss me if offenced, Or wear an ear condom next time

I wanna love you, But something’s pulling me away from you

Jesus is my virtue, Judas is the demon I cling to I cling to

I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!

That's funny that you would mention that. Because the first time I heard this part I thought she might have been making a Biblical verse contemporary.

Romans 7:18, The Apostle Paul wrote:

"I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out."

I know some would consider me sacrilegious or something but I honestly thought of that verse when I heard it. Call me crazy. nuts

That's actually an interesting connection. Gaga is speaking of virtue versus a somewhat sinful nature hence the "demon I cling to" part. hmmm

I like the way your brain is working. thumbs up!

Why everybody seems so surprised by her performance in that acapella video, I don't know. Gaga always could sing her ass off - honestly her vocal chops are comparable to Christina Aguilera.

I wouldn't go as far to say she can compete with Xtina but Gaga can sing, of that I am certain. And to tread slightly off topic....Katy Perry has a rather appealing voice as well.

Gaga's a dark horse because she doesn't show her voice off hardly ever. I'm not sure if she can blow like Xtina but I am sure she comes damn close if she can't. Xtina stays doin runs and inflections over every damn syllabel.

I like Christina but Gaga certainly has much more restraint. If you sing all out all the time then there are no subtleties in your music.
