Hip-Hop Fans, Y'all Remember This Jay-Z Diss?

(the one with the "you're like Mark McGuire on steroids" line)

Hell you know someone ain't dared do an actual diss song but compare you biting off other rappers so much. lol

I know rappers take bits from others (as does Cam'ron) but, in his words, "this is ri-DIC-ulous!"

Cam'ron missed a great chance to capitalize on this and his 50cent diss. (CURTIIIS).

He could have easily scored a platinum album if only he had one to release.

Why so much hate for Jay-Z???? Really, I truly want to know. Someone please clue me in.

Ok he's "borrowed" quite a few lines biggrin , but he's got quite a few albums, that have quite a few songs, which all have quite a few lines on them.

In the grand scheme of things what percentage of his lines are "borrowed" in comparison to what we believe he actually wrote?

BTW - here are my 5 favorite Jay-Z songs:

1. “Dirt Off My Shoulder” – The Black Album

2. “Brooklyn’s Finest” – Reasonable Doubt

3. “Say Hello” – American Gangster

4. “Excuse Me Miss “ – The Blueprint2

5. “Song Cry” – The Blueprint

Yeah Jay-Z's real shady. I'm glad Cam'ron called out on his ass personally though. DMX also said Jay-Z ain't got a heart.

Well thing is that people talk about Suge Knight funding Death Row with alot of "Blood Money", Jay Z has alot of "Blood Money" and "illegal" things in his climb. Ask Tearria Mari about Jay's business practices, another great diss was the Beanie Sigel one where he shreds Jay Z talkin about how Jay Z talks about the "neighborhood" but how when he goes back he rides through in his limo with his head turned the other way like he dont know anyone.

Interesting. Jay-Z is not a saint like the members of Dipset, DMX or Beanie Sigel. And unlike the Kennedys and some other "old money" families in the U.S.A. he may have started his empire with "dirty" money.

I did not know these things about him. Now I need to decide if I want to continue to listen to his music........

This is completely false.

Jaz-O could be argued as the originator of the double time delivery and Jay was his partner.

^This is from 1990.

Bone didn't even drop Faces Of Death for another couple of years, so if anything, Bone was jocking jay z jocking jocking jay z.

Yeah but in the late 80s to early 90s, before Faces Of Death came out, but probably after they wrote Flow Motion, Bizzy Bone went to New York with a guy he worked for and met Jay-Z. They battled each other for 30 dollars, and Bizzy rapped some of Krayzie's lyrics. Jay said he never heard anything like that and told Bizzy to just take the money.

This was around the time Jay starting trying his hand at the fast rapping scene. I think he got the idea after he heard what Bizzy rapped to him that day they battled because obviously he liked it. But I think he dropped the style when he didn't really gain much from it.

There is no "yeah, but".

You just made up a bunch of bullshit.

Faces of Death was released in 93 and the recording sessions are said to have taken place from anywhere between 91 until then. Note how the track I posted came out in 90, also keep in mind that Jay had been rapping with Jaz since circa 1988.

Jaz is originator of the fast rapping style and he taught Jay the ropes, not Bone.

Simple as that.

Even if Jay had met Bizzy, he had been rapping like that long before then, so your story doesn't add up.

The only decent Jay-z Diss was Ether and that was it, the rest suck dick!!!!, jay-z was left scratching his head after that Nas diss like "Oh shit!!!", the Takeover was a better song but was no where next to Ether lyrically even Jay knew that, no wonder they put all that bull shit behind them in 05 and joined forces on "Black Republican" as they say if you cant beat them join them haha.

Cameron, no one cares about that nigga no more, nor him nor Jim Jones, I give Dipset credit they were dope but Jay-z is in flipflops on a 1000000 yacht screwing Beyonce and Cam and Jim are still on the same old shit. No disrespect.

As for Jay-z the rapper, he retired after the Black album in 2003, I dont care about the multi-millionare festival rockstar Jay-z of today both his post retirement albums were wack, even if American Gangster did have some dope beats by sean c and LV.

There is a "yeah but". YEAH Jay-Z was rapping like that before 1993, BUT - (the rest of my post).

And I didn't make that up. Bizzy himself has talked about it on multipule occations. If Jay was rapping fast before the battle that took place, it would have been no big deal when he first heard Bizzy Bone do it.

Jay wasnt the first 2 rhyme fast. K-Solo,Big Daddy Kane, Kool G Rap ,Rev Run, Rakim, and Kool Moe Dee were rhyming in double time years b4 it was a fad.

JAY-Z and JAZ-O are two different people. You are getting things confused as I never claimed that Jay was the first. I said that JAZ can be argued as the originator of the style.

I have dispelled the rumor that Jay stole from Bone and that was my intention!

dude!, jay doesnt have 'blood money' or any of that shit , this nigga stabbed his longtime friend and partner in the back (Dame Dash), snatched Rocawear and sold Rocafella to Def Jam, that was a turning point yea sure he owns the New Jersey Nets and the 40/40 club which both are big money not to mention his cataloge of hits (even though he doesnt own Reasonable doubt) but that that still isnt the main reason why this dude is every year on the top 3 forbes list.

Beanie was pissed at Jay cause he didnt visit him in Prison, also for calling the cops on him at the BP3 show in Philli, yea if i was Beans id be pissed too but id move the fuck on, not wine about it like a 2 year old, the whole ROC have moved on, look at Freeway and Young Chris even Dame Dash has the whole DD172 and Bluroc records goin on with Curren$y and Big Krit.

Terrai Mari was part of Rocafella and let go just like Foxy, Amalia and other female members, she's just wining about it like Beanie.

As for Jay swagging Bone Thugs flow that is compltely and utterly false like someone posted he started with Jaz and someone called De haven who intoduced them to a BK DJ known as Clark kent, he didnt jack Jaz-o's flow either that was the style at the time 96-97 check out his freestyle with Big L in 95. Jaz and Jay shared the same flow on Jigga what in 98 and that was it.

Jay doesnt borrow lines, he jacks flows and beats, yea thats the truth and for the record he didnt steal Bizzy's or Jaz's flow he stole CAMP LO'S go check out Reasonable doubt and Uptown saturday Night or just google it, he even stole "Feelin it" which was supposed to be on Uptown saturday Night, he later jacked the izzo beat which was supposed to be for Cam and a couple of Just Blaze beats intended for saigon!!. Recently he's been jackin Young Chris flow also Kanye's and Lupe's hip style

@DrHeat - I actually like Camp Lo although I only own one of their cds - "Uptown Saturday Night". I loved the "flow" of both Geechi and Chiba - effortless. But I don't hear Jay-Z when I listen to them or vice-versa. Whose style did he steal? Geechi or Chiba?

I'm not a hip-hop aficionado so maybe I just can't hear it. But, I could clearly hear Biggie when I first heard Shyne. The influence was obvious. I don't hear it with Camp Lo and Jay-Z.

Its Uptown saturday night that im talking about, go listen to reasonable doubt tracks like dead Presidant, Politics as usual and you'll notice that lyrical play between the lines especially on the Ski tracks, ppl who say that camp lo's album was released after jay's so he couldnt have jocked it are wrong cause camp lo were formed in 1995 and made their first appearance in May 3rd 1996 on The Great White Hype soundtrack, with their single "Coolie High", Reasonable doubt was released late june early july, during those past 4 months producer Ski Beatz was working on both albums and Jay had heard some of the Camp Lo tracks that ski had worked on he even took "Feelin it" for himself, thats how he used that same flow on his own Ski tracks on Reasonable Doubt, again Im talking about the Ski tracks not the whole album, i know ppl are gonna also say that Ski teamed up with Jay in 93 but that was a whole different sound then and its not about who met who or worked with who first.

There's no doubt that he jacked Young Chris flow after the BP1, ever since he started fucking with state property, the whole whispering and rhyme technique basically.

I think we can all agree that Jay jacked styles... starting from his bk buddy Jaz-o in the very early days, then Camp Lo and Finally Young Chris

Here's more info on the Young Chris flow jacking
