Is the new album gonna be reissued 6x like the last one, I wonder??? Sounds like a "hit" groove though. Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

This beat is VERY similar to the one used for Dirty Money's, "Ass On The Floor".

Might as well say it is. It's the same sample, Major Lazer's "Pon De Floor"

OMG: Sandra Bernhardt wore this outfit as a parady of "afro pride" two decades ago while she sang Nna Simone's Four Women. Space for sale...

Wow .. what a complete abortion of a song. I hate it already. It doesn't even sound like music

I thought she said she was creating a whole new genre? that snippet sounds like all the other crap that's on the radio right now.

Same here. "When Michael Jackson is just singing and dancing, you just think this is an astonishing talent. And he has had this astounding talent all his life, but we want him to be floored as well. We really don´t like the idea that he could have it all."

I heard more of this song somewhere else, and it was GOOD actually. It's a double treat for me because I love Major Lazer. *patiently waiting for Bey* I might end up working out to this one.

Hearing this song makes me miss Brandy. Ole girl's voice in Dirty Money reminds me of her.
I'll try to reserve my judgment of Beyonce's song until I hear the whole thing.
I will say, I never buy into the pre-game hype by recording acts. I figure if its a great song, it will stand on its own. It will sell itself. Especially if you're already a big name like she is. Simply release the song, forget the (I don't know who leaked it) crap and just confidently release it to all outlets.

Her "new sound" is groundbreaking, and quite different from anything I've ever heard before. It will leave the critics grasping for superlatives--NOT!

It’s finally here! The 1st single from Beyonce’s highly anticipated new album has been released! ‘Girls (Who Run The World)’ was produced by Diplo and Switch, and samples the duo’s Major Lazer project, ‘Pon Di Floor’. Give the track a listen below:
While the song is far from impressive lyrically, the record is a monster banger to say the least! The record is almost a direct sample of ‘Pon Di Floor’ but the addition of more drums and the vocal arrangement take the entire production to a completely different level! Whether this risk will result in a #1 hit for Beyonce remains to be seen but one thing is certain: Britney Spears and Lady GaGa have been shut down. Who run this mother?! http://thatgrapejuice.net...run-world/ listen here

I like it - the beat and overall production is on-point. It also successfully gets my blood pumping, something Brit-Brit and Lady Gaga's new material completely failed to do.
"Girls" IS hit material, and fits in perfectly with today's music scene. I don't know why the initial reviews of the song seemed a bit unsure about that, just like I don't know why the initial reviews of this sound depicted it as groundbreaking. Yeah, no
On another point, the lyrics are so bad, they're good and completely "YOU CAN'T HOLD ME...I worked my 9 to 5, betta cut my check!!!"
I guess a Beyonce that doesn't represent for all the bitch hoodrats out there is no Beyonce at all...

After hearing the full song...I don't like it at all I'm glad it's not trance or europop-sounding like all the other songs these days but I can't get into after 3 listens [Edited 4/18/11 17:43pm]
