Whateva Happend 2 Mel'isa Morgan?? Now that bad ass soul sistah could've been easily the 3rd diva along with our longtime powerful vocalists soul sisters(I'm talking about queens of the 90's Mariah & Whitney) if of course the right label was backing her ass up then.
Ya'll remember "Love Changes" with Kashif?? Phew now that what I call REAL SINGING it was the toppest song from Kashif so far and I ain't too crazy about his voice but he sho as hell knew how to pick a killer RnB female vocalist. That song put serious shivers down my spine. PPL(esp here lol ) weren't too crazy about her debut single 4 the simple fact that its a Prince's song but I couldn't give a damn,,,I loved her version too. What happend 2 her anyway?? where she is and how she's doing?? I wouldn't post this if tired ass yahoo put sites about her I'm searching through the net and I still didn't find any in4mation about her.

I don't know what happened to her but I know she came out with a song in the late 90s that was a jam and it got no airplay.

I loved her voice! And her big hair!!!
I think her version of "Do Me, Baby" is one of the best P covered songs out there! Just this past Thanxgiving my brother and I pulled out that 45 and sang that jam at the top of our lungs at 2am!!! (We were stinking drunk...by the way) Ahhh..good times! Every minute of last night is on my face today....

I want to say that she might've appeared in one of those off-off-off-off-off...Broadway plays at the Beacon Theater (Some of y'all prolly know whutumtalkin'about. That blaxploitation thread's got me thinking that there MUST me a name for this genre of plays) but, I'm not certain.
I've always thought that Thelma Houston looked like an old Shanice.

it's basically a modern day version of the chitlin circuit. "That...magic, the start of something revolutionary-the Minneapolis Sound, we should cherish it and not punish prince for not being able to replicate it."-Dreamshaman32

I actually ran into her about three years ago.
Don't want to sound like I'm name dropping here, but I was in the studio with JT Taylor while he was working on his most recent solo CD. Me'lisa was there recording her vocals for a duet with him, and she sounded terrific as ever. She told us that she was working on her own joint and had a CD-R of one of her new mixes which we played. FUNKY AS HELL!!! Didn't get the name of it, and I don't know if it ever dropped, but I know she did have a major distributor for her label at that time so who knows??? Great voice and a very nice lady!!! -SWANGlivesinaFool'sParadise
