James Brown - Audition & band leader anecdotes?

Hey all!

I read an article a long time ago which had this type of information, but can't find it now.

In particular, I am interested in reading about him auditioning new players.

There was something about if a player couldn't play the same riff for 15 minutes straight without going on any tangents, then they had no chance of being hired.

Anyone got any links or know of anything relating to this?

I'm also interested in anything about how he ran his band, in terms of the music, arrangments, writing etc.

Thanks!

Music, sweet music, I wish I could caress and...kiss, kiss...

Sounds like James had his own Live "sampling" band.
