i love ms. knight... she doesn't get as much credit as she deserves, at all. not for being one of the 'discoverers' of the jackson 5 (with bobby taylor (and the vancouvers); not for her remarkable voice, not for her warmth and humility (as far as i can see). i mean, this right here just brings me chills:

She's the best as far as i'm concerned, no disrespect to Aretha an'em. But when Miss knight is blowing that perfect instrument of hers, everyone around me must silence themselves.

Gladys Knight is the shi+!!! Love me some Georgia peach. Little Richard has often stated that she is the Queen of Soul, and in some respects Penniman is right.

Knight would have been a formidable force versus Aretha Franklin if she had been a solo singer, as opposed to being a member of a group.

Knight has always stayed for the most part in the r&b realm with her material, whereas Franklin has veered into pop, rock, jazz, blues, showtunes, opera and gospel. Gladys Knight has given her heart and soul most of her career, an still sounds pretty much the same unlike all of the other divas.
