Hot Chocolate Does anyone remember and like this British 70s/80s funk and disco group, led by the vocals of Errol Brown and a kick ass rhythm section that sounded more Stax than the UK. The powerhouse bass and synthesisers and backing vocals. They were known for their big hits You Sexy Thing 1976 (Just a classic period) Everyones a winner 1978 (It has a bit of a Prince like sound) Emmeline (1974) a great classic with lyrics about an aspiring star who takes her own life It started with a kiss (1982) poppy but enjoyable 80s comeback hit) Heaven is in the back seat of my cadillac (1976) good time funk and roll.
For a while they were up there with Billy Ocean for the seriously cool Black English dude sound (And would suffice until Geoffrey Butler came along lol)
The group was actaully like Prince's early groups, racially and sexually mixed and Brown wrote most of the songs and taught the other players their parts. They apparently had hits in England every year from 1970 to 1984. Who else really dug them.
Got some kind of love for you, and I don't even know your name

This was my oldest brother's favorite group, and his favorite song was "Sexy Thing". Even though, he is no longer with us, I still hear him singing this, off key.... "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"
