Soul Train treats & re-posts on youtube Randy Hall - I've Been Watching You ( Jamie's Girl ) - 1984 - MCA Records
Great to see this re-posted, and in a slight better quality. Check that Randy-roll at the beginning This track seemed to cause some confusion because radio-listeners thought it was Ray Parker, Jr. when first hearing it. Ray produced Randy's album, and had a song on his own called "Jamie". I guess that's how they got mixed up lol. Some of Randy's backing musicians in this Soul Train episode were from Miles Davis' band. Vincent Wilburn, Jr. on drums (Miles' nephew, who toured around 1981 with Cameo), Felton Crews on bass, Robert Irving, III on keys and synths, the other synth-cat is Douglas Smith but i can't remember if he was in Miles' band too, and i forgot the name of the saxophone player. They recorded as well on Randy's debut-album, including "I've Been Watching You". Randy was also lead singer on the title track of Miles Davis' album "The Man With The Horn" from 1981. A year later Randy became front singer of the legendary funk group Pleasure, and sang on solid album tracks like "Sending My Love", "What's It Gonna Be", etc ... from Pleasure's last official album, RCA Records, 1982
