Cool review dude. The lead single is Caught My Eye. I read an interview with Ricky Kinchen recently and he stated that they are in the process of deciding the next single. I agree wholeheartedly with your opinion of Stokley being the best male artist/musician of this generation. The guy skill set is phenomenal. Vocalist, drummer, guitarist, and keyboardist. No artist from his generation brings that skill set to the table. Don't laugh at my funk

How was the show? They BLAZED!! I've seen them a couple of times before but last night they were KILLER!! They played "look what u done to me" and blended james browns soul power with the breakdown to the big payback..then blended atomic dog then love rollercoaster...between each song the segway was the beginning of Al Greens love and happiness..then went back to look what u done!! I know..it sounds crazy..but they mixed em flawlessly! "We got us" live is amazing! They stayed ater the show and signed every autograph and took every pic request after..the driver that was taking them to the hotel kept telling them that the van was waiting and Rick and Stokley told him that they were staying as long as they had to until everyone was taken care of! Wow!! That's awesome. I'm hoping they come back to the House Of Blues in Myrtle Beach, SC.
They killed there in 2008.... I always tell people that I couldn't believe what I was witnessing. It was so good I couldn't believe it.
I didn't know that they were hanging around after the show, until all these people were posting after show pics on Myspace...needless to say, I was annoyed!! I did shake Stokley's hand though as I was front stage and he shook hands with many of us when the band was ringing out the last note of the last song.
Anyway, I recently asked Brandon to do drums for a project I'm working on and he's already agreed once he gets his studio up and running, so I may meet up with them eventually anyway.

I can only assume that you unwittingly picked up the standard version. The packaging indicates 5 extra tracks are included.

The Best Buy I went to only had the standard version.

I didn't want to clog the board with a new thread, but I'm wondering if any of you have any thoughts about why Mint Condition is not bigger? They really put out solid, consistent r&b music with good vocals and instrumentation/musicianship. They occupy a very unique space in the industry as far as I can see. So why haven't they blown up more? I dont know much about them, their label, marketing etc. so perhaps there is a big element I am missing.... [Edited 5/7/11 17:58pm]

It is sad to see that a majority of people just know them by hits such as "Breakin' My Heart (Pretty Brown Eyes)" and "What Kind of Man Would I Be", but I think they've moved on from being popular and having #1 hits as their contemporaries of past and present. They are focused on putting out solid albums with solid material and that's an impressive feat. I always saw Mint as a band that could rule on all levels musically, not chart-wise as much because they always stayed true to their artistry. As many MC fans know, they have gotten screwed around by various labels over the years and they have been credited as a black R&B band, which certainly has something to do with commercial success they haven't attained fully. I don't think you can put MC in a box or category because they are in fact versatile musically. [Edited 5/7/11 21:21pm] Check me out and add me on:
