LOL. Everyone ranked E-Life last.
I'm surprised to see LTLB over DOAB though...

Couldn't get mine until i got off at 5:30. Diggin pretty much the entire cd. Cupid's Hunt was basically recorded during the Luxury Brown sessions. If you bought Luxury Brown at Wal Mart, you got a card to download Cupid's Hunt for free for a limited time. I already had Cupid on cd. They surprised the hell out of me with Whatchu Want. They got all the way funky on that one. Bless A Woman & A Man is a nice bonus cut too. The Live version of I'm Ready on this disc is 3 times better than the version on Live at the 9:30 club. I dig how MC changes the groove on Can't Get Away at the end as well as changing the groove on some of the songs on other tracks. 7 is a huge improvement over E-Life. Don't laugh at my funk
This funk is a serious joint

Whatchu want SMOKES!! This CD is effin' Killer!!! "I wasn't invited to shake hands with Hitler, but I wasn't invited to the White House to shake hands with the President, either" ~ Jesse Owens

Yeah they absolutely smashed this song! Matter of fact, I'm listening to it right now!

"Whatchu Want" - This is currently being slaughtered by the Repeat Button!! It has that Parilament-Funkadelic FUNK!
"Bless A Woman & A Man" - This will be a future wedding song by many.
"Cupid's Hunt" - I've been wanting this track for LONG TIME! I finally got it. Glad they added it as a bonus track to the album
The Live Versions of "Nothing Left to Say" & "I'm Ready" is Fire!!

My bad... I wasn't initially listening to the bonus tracks as I have a tendency to digest the "core" album first and then listen to the bonuses.... Now that I have, it really is a great track. A highlight for sure.

I actually have the whole project on repeat.
Love this new cd. [Edited 4/6/11 11:26am]

Picked up a copy at Best Buy, yesterday.
I don't like it...I love it. They brought it with this one.
This one is probably in my top 3 of favorite Mint albums. Looking forward to seeing them on stage in about three weeks..
"Twenty Years Later" is kind of scary..LOL Check out my tribute to Prince

I know that I said that "Ease the Pain", "Can't Get Away" or "Walk On" should be the next single, But I've changed my choice.
"Unsung" needs to be the next single! After hearing it, 2:24-til the end is superb. The whole song is awesome but from that part is were the song takes off for me. The Guitar Solo is needed for Urban Radio right now!

I'm loving Whatchu Want...................would that sell as a single?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I'm loving Can't Get Away and Walk On right now. Walk On would probably be the safe bet for the next single. It kind of picks up right where Nothing Left to Say ends. Stokley sings that with such feeling. Unsung is a nice song but i sure as hell don't want that song to ruin them much like I Wanna Know What Love Is ruined Foreigner. Don't laugh at my funk

Whatchu want blows away anything on the radio right now! "I wasn't invited to shake hands with Hitler, but I wasn't invited to the White House to shake hands with the President, either" ~ Jesse Owens

Anything could sell as a single with all the garbage that's on the radio. Any song off the album can sell as a single. "Unsung" has that classic Mint sound to it, Shoot, "Bless A Woman & A Man" could even be a single.

HELL YEAH IT DOES!!!!!!!

Oh I know what you mean. I wouldn't mind any of these songs on the radio."Walk On" does have that "Nothing Left to Say" feel to it.

I'm definitely swiping this up after my first class tomorrow! I've just been hearing so many great things about this album from Mint fans (like myself) and others alike. I heard the Kelly Price collaboration "Not My Daddy" and I was impressed. Check me out and add me on:

Brought it earlier today and finally spinning it. All I have to say is that this is better than E-Life. I just got done hearing "Walk On" and it brought me right back to 90's Mint. I think they are gonna get Grammy noise for this album because it is good so far. They brought the funk with this. Check me out and add me on:

The title track "7" is slick! K's verse is killer...loving how he uses past Mint albums and puts a spin on all of them. WOW! Mint is definitely bringin' it on this album. Check me out and add me on:

Mind Slicker and Walkon are my tops. Not my daddy has grown on me, I like the groove a lot, the words adn title just make me cringe. Since the new album I have been in a Mint Condition mood and watching some live concert footage. If you feel like a laugh, check out this short clip of Someone to Love. Someone was clearly feeling it a bit too much.
