IT'S A BROWN OUT - HDD SALES PREDICTIONS

Chris Brown Will Bow at #1 with 250-275k; Jennifer Hudson, The Strokes Up Next

March 23, 2011

Barry Weiss certainly didn’t leave the cupboard bare at Jive/RCA when he split for UMG.

The label group will have the top four debuts on next week’s chart, with Jive/JLG’s Chris Brown album, F.A.M.E., leading the way, boasting a total of in the 250-275k range. That would make it the second-largest of the year after Adele’s 351k. If you didn’t know, the acronym stands for “Forgive All My Enemies.” Nice.

19/J/RMG’s Jennifer Hudson sophomore album, I Remember Me, bows this week with 150-175k in sales, which is about what she dropped in weight.

RCA/RMG’s The Strokes album, Angles, their first in four years, will do in the 85-100k range, good for a #3 debut.

Gospocentric/JLG’s Kirk Franklin rounds out Jive/RCA’s impressive week with a #4 debut for Hello Fear, his first new studio effort in four years, which will debut with between 80-95k.
Adele’s album, down only about 10-15%, will give Sony Music a clean sweep of the Top 5.

Decaydance/FBR/Atlantic’s Panic at the Disco is next up with a target of 55-65k for Vices & Virtues, their third album.

Capitol/EMI R&B singer Bobby V’s fourth album, Fly on the Wall, should do between 30-45k.

Yellowcard’s indie debut on Hopeless, When You’re Through Thiking, Say Yes, their first since 2007’s Paper Walls, is looking at between 25-30k, the same amount as Reprise’s Green Day live CD/DVD, the gloriously titled Awesome as f**k.

Warner Bros. rapper Gucci Mane’s The Return of Mr. Zone 6, should bow with between 20-25k in first-week sales.
For the fifth week in a row, album sales beat the corresponding week from last year. The market was down 8% vs. last week, up 1% vs. same week last year and now down 6% year to date. Next week, the chart will go up against Justin Bieber's My World 2.0, which opened one year ago with 283k.

In other news, CORNBALL CORPORATE COPOUT artist Suckm Adyk's seventy-fifth album in 2 years "BANG BANG in my Bung Bung" sells 150K - 200K this week, proving Suckm goes harder, longer, and deeper than Beiber, Brown, and Britney. Though no one admits to buying these albums, people who are 'connected' or believe themselves 'connected' to Adyk are likely the only people impressed that their parent company's retail stores have heavily stocked their physical product for no one to buy. They are also the only ones willing to spend money on cheap computer music and value sized bottles of sexual lubricant.

Sales predictions for "BB in my BB" are projected to go into the millions, while Suckm Adyk's pending tax evasion charges (nearly 13 million in unpaid bills) are likely to send him to the slammer despite his blaming it on quote "reparations".

"Bang Bang in my Bung Bung" is Suckm Adyk's "All Eyez On Me" as he faces jail time and has never left his home suburb of Walla Walla, WA except for a short club tour supporting Taylor Dayne last year.

SERIOUSLY WHO THE FUNK ARE THOSE PEOPLE AND WHO IS BUYING THAT ISH?

If Roman Polanski can still win an Oscar, than someone who served his time should deserve a second chance...no?

Space for sale...

Chris Brown is not in jail, and I think that's second chance enough!

We can give him awards after his Rosemary's Baby and Chinatown

Breezy haters are gonna be so pressed next week.

The top of next week's chart will be dominated by Sony Music with as many as seven titles in the Top 10. Chris Brown will lead the way with debuts by Jennifer Hudson, The Strokes and Kirk Franklin also on tap. Adele, this week's chart topper, could possibly remain in the Top 5. However, the spoiler to an all-Sony Top 5 could come from Universal Music as they are slated to release a compilation album tomorrow (3/25) to benefit the earthquake- and tsunami-ravaged Japan. The album will be digital only, at least for now, and will feature dozens of tracks from all the major music groups. Rihanna, Justin Bieber and possibly Lady GaGa have all contributed tracks. Where this will land on the chart won't be known until Monday morning. Overall, eight of the Top 15 may be new entries. Here's how it looks headed into the weekend:

*Debuts (3/24p)

*Chris Brown (Jive/JLG) 270-280k
*Jennifer Hudson (Arista/RMG) 160-170k
*The Strokes (RCA/RMG) 90-95k
Adele (XL/Columbia) 85-90k
*Kirk Franklin (Gospocentric/JLG) 85-90k
*Panic at the Disco (Decaydance/FBR/Atlantic) 50-55k
Mumford & Sons (Glassnote) 35-40k
*Bobby V (Capitol/EMI) 35-40k
P!nk (LaFace/JLG) 28-32k
Lupe Fiasco (Atlantic) 25-28k
Marsha Ambrosius (J/RMG) 25-28k
Now 37 (Capitol/EMI) 25-28k
*Yellowcard (Hopeless) 25-28k
*Green Day (Reprise) 25-28k
Glee Cast Vol. 5 (Columbia) 24-27k
Justin Bieber Never Say Never (Island/IDJ) 24-27k
Rise Against (Geffen) 24-27k
Rihanna (Def Jam/IDJ) 24-27k
