"Perfect Angel" by Minnie Riperton and "Let's Get Serious" by Jermaine Jackson. His involvement on those records is composing (not all songs) arranging (not all songs) producing (not all songs) instrumentation (drums harmonica piano synth) and general guidance. So to me those are must have records as wel because his involvement is on such a level the overall album is improved.

I feel ya. Yeah I wish the full album can come out some kind of way.

Yeah a lot of people feel this way. I'm happy Stevie gave us Buttercup. Normally he's not really allowing stuff like that. Michael's death changed something.

"You're Supposed to Keep Your Love from Me" kept me from pursuing the album. I don't know, with Jermaine, there was some hits and lots of misses in his catalog. Nothing stood out like the Jacksons' albums or Michael's or Janet's.

That was one of the interesting cuts. Jermaine was really trying to compete with the Dazz Band's "Let It Whip" with his own synth funk anthem and he got DEVO on it. That was kinda refreshing. But yeah I thought it was nasty when I heard it too. I think he left Motown shortly after that because Motown didn't really get behind him (and Lionel Richie and Rick James were considered the "saviors" of Motown when Jermaine couldn't deliver lol).

FWIW, Stevie only did 3 of the songs. I like "Do What You Do" (although I do think it's overrated) and I love "Don't Take It Personal," but "Let's Get Serious" is at least a billion times better IMO. I could listen to that song all day every day!

I definitely wouldn't shuffle it in with

I can understand though. I think Stevie himself, he was too focused on outside activities than to work on music though he knew the musical landscape was changing so he had to adapt plus "Secret Life" didn't do what he thought it would...
