same here! I've had it for a while.. but I wish we could get our hands on the full album because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

I feel ya. Yeah I wish the full album can come out some kind of way.

Yeah a lot of people feel this way. I'm happy Stevie gave us Buttercup. Normally he's not really allowing stuff like that. Michael's death changed something.

Yeah Stevie seemed to have personally changed a bit after Michael's death.

Wait, you've never heard Let's Get Serious? Not even the title track?!? "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

if I have, I don't know it by title the song I most remember from Jermaine (outside of "Don't Take It Personal") is one of my favorites of the 80s "Do What You Do"
I'm stealin Let's Get Serious right now I will let you know what I think because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

Don't try to 'boss the bull around..'
So I have heard that J5 'Buttercup' version recently but did that only appear since MJ died? And was it Stevie who leaked it?

"Let's Get Serious" is Jermaine's biggest solo hit (#1 R&B, #9 Pop) and was Billboard's R&B Single of the Year in 1980 (beating out his brother's "Rock With You").

interesting trivia... I don't believe that song beat out Rock With You I've listened to the album, and eeeh.... maybe I have to hear it a couple more times "Don't Take It Personal" & "Do What You Do" >>>>>>> that whole LGS album
I'm sorry, it was like watching paint dry because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

"You're Supposed to Keep Your Love from Me" kept me from pursuing the album. I don't know, with Jermaine, there was some hits and lots of misses in his catalog. Nothing stood out like the Jacksons' albums or Michael's or Janet's.

ROTFL
I remember LOVING "Let Me Tickle Your Fancy" as a kid, and thought it was a nasty song ROTFL because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

I'm sorry, it was like watching paint dry  FWIW, Stevie only did 3 of the songs. I like "Do What You Do" (although I do think it's overrated) and I love "Don't Take It Personal," but "Let's Get Serious" is at least a billion times better IMO. I could listen to that song all day every day! "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

That was one of the interesting cuts. Jermaine was really trying to compete with the Dazz Band's "Let It Whip" with his own synth funk anthem and he got DEVO on it. That was kinda refreshing. But yeah I thought it was nasty when I heard it too. I think he left Motown shortly after that because Motown didn't really get behind him (and Lionel Richie and Rick James were considered the "saviors" of Motown when Jermaine couldn't deliver lol).

I mean the album wasn't ALL bad I definitely wouldn't shuffle it in with Perfect Angel & Stevie Wonder Presents... in my WONDERLOVE playlist
I would probably shuffle it with Hotter Than July tho another album that, dare I say it, is too like watching paint dry (outside of "Rocket Love", "Master Blaster" & "Lately".. it just is for me ) I own it on vinyl, just because of those 3 songs I just mentioned because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."

Ha! We're through! | |

"All I Do" "Did I Hear You Say You Love Me" "Cash In Yo Face" and "Do Like You" is like watching Paint dry to ya? No discussion left...

I mean, I didn't even think it was possible to dislike "All I Do." "Whitney was purely and simply one of a kind." ~ Clive Davis

I can understand though. I think Stevie himself, he was too focused on outside activities than to work on music though he knew the musical landscape was changing so he had to adapt plus "Secret Life" didn't do what he thought it would... [Edited 3/31/11 9:28am]

LOL.. "All I Do" was one I forgot to mention I mean HTJ is not all bad (kinda like LGS)
I can sit through the album if I want to, I suppose
but I usually just play my favorites and then on to another album because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
