his dancing isn't as presicion-sharp as prince, in terms of leading the band.

In interviews, members of the band from past tours normally say that they are just following him.

Someone made an interesting comment the other day...she said she was attending the Prince concert here in North Carolina because that's the closest she will ever get to Michael Jackson. Ok...ummm..really. I didnt know what to make of that. They're two different types of performers...can anyone make sense of what she meant? Im baffled

Why didn't you ask her?

Less chance of that discussion getting locked.

My guess would be because they're both music superstars.

There may have been a time after Elvis' death that someone would say somehting like 'I'm going to see Michael Jackson because that's as close to Elvis as I'm ever going to get.'

It doesn't need to turn into yet another Prince VS. Michael discussion.

But, of course, that does seem to be the intent of the OP.

Lock this shit!

oh yeah, i've seen people say that in interviews... you also see michael in songs like 'another part of me', where he uses hand signals to let the band know where they should be in the song. however, michael does the same song differently so many times during a tour, there are only very basic cues i see coming from him, regarding being a band leader in terms of dance. still think his dancing is a bit more 'freestyle' than prince. when prince jumps on the one, it's on the one. for michael, it can be either on the one or on the two, depending on anything. this is just what i see when i see the two perform.
