Ciara On The Road To Start Over In Career

ciara 543 e1292578082768 Ciara Officially Leaves Label?

Months after her open letter addressing the drama with her record label, it seems that Ciara may have finally moved onto pastures new – if the actions of the label are anything to go by.

Full story after the jump…

On Jive’s official site, the ‘Goodies’ singer was noticeably absent from the list of artists signed to the company. A change only apparent as of this week.

This comes just days after it was revealed that the Grammy winner had met with Steve Riferkind of SRC/Universal Music, who described the encounter as being a ‘positive’ one. It was not confirmed what the exact subject matter of this meeting was.

It is worth noting, however, that the label – which is also home to Akon, Melania Fiona and Shontelle – is a sub division of Universal Motown and recently signed former Danity Kane member Aubrey O’Day.

——————————

Ciara’s well documented differences with her label are arguably synonymous with the downward spiral her career took both commercially and critically.

However, with talent as undeniable as hers it is safe to say that whatever the star chooses to do her fans will be right behind her. Whether she signs to SRC/Universal or not, let’s hope in time the Atlanta native is celebrated for the gifted and promising artist that she has already proven herself to be. Time and time again

She also need to be set to PUT HER DAMN CLOTHES ON, looking like a fool in her album spread half butt naked, looking like a mess on that Ride video. That is a major turn off.

Anyway, she also need to hook back up with Jazze Pha. He was basically the Jimmy Jam of her career.

Been saying this after Evolution. Those two just had chemistry together and most of

her hits has been as a result of their collaboration. I believe he sued her as she told

a bit in Vibe a few years ago and she was just looking to put the situation behind her.

It will be interesting to see if they ever work together again.

People in Atlanta say that after her early success with the Goodies release, she went Hollywood (literally). She wanted to distance herself from him and the whole Crunk N R&B sound. Before you knew it, she's hanging out with Kim Kardashian in LA. confused

Ciara started feeling herself a little too much and started feeling like she didn't need anyone anymore. Thats why her career is tanking now

She really needs to let it just R.I.P.

It's like someone constantly trying to revive a dead person. They're not coming back, boo. Let it go.

I agree. After two flop albums in a row,one thing is certain: the public just doesn't want to purchase a Ciara CD lol There are many artists who simply won't be in it for the long haul.Remember Ashanti? Remember Mya? Ciara is already on that same road to Has-been land.

this "she cant sing" stuff is only used for women for some reason...they are male singers who are on the same level as Ciara as far as vocals go and nobody says they cant sing

hmmm I think folk are harder on mediocre to crappy women performers, but I wouldn't say males altogether escape such criticism. I hear folk constantly talk about how Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Akon, etc. cant sing.

get back together for what?

This is what alot of people DONT know.. Jazze was never her main producer (ie Brandy and darkchild, Aaliyah and Tim, Keri and Polo, etc)... He was just her mentor. On her first album he only produced like 3 songs. and on her second he produced like 1 song. They were never a singer/production duo.

This chick has never been her own artist after her debut album, if she was either trying to be Aaliyah, Janet Jackson or even a mix of Beyonce & Fergie sometimes. She's a great dancer, no denying that but her last huge hit was 1 2 step,i don't even include love sex magic because that had Justin Timberlake written all over it.

This is interesting. I don't know much about the producer tole in putting a person's career on the map. It seemed in this case, it was less about Ciara and more about those particular songs. As if any young cute can hold a tune woman could have shown up at the next meeting and LA would have been happy becuase he was sold on the song. It doesn't even sound like he had seen her dance?
