Mary White Ovington, Oswald Garrison Villard, and William English Walling, one white female and two white males founded the NAACP. They were the ones that set up Ida Wells and W.E.B. Dubois in these heading positions. I am not saying that blacks were not involved. I am saying that blacks were not the original founders. The organization were heavily financed by the Jews. Research it some more.

And as for W.E.B. Dubois,.........boule! nod

It's funny when I read Tony Brown's book, it appears to me he was throwing hints about secret societies.

Kid Rock Defends Racism Claims as He's Honored by NAACP

May 2, 2011

Kid Rock may have been honored by the NAACP, but that hasn't dissuaded protesters from accusing him of racism. At issue Sunday outside an NAACP event honoring Rock was his onstage use of the Confederate flag, which protesters called unacceptable.

"I love America. I love Detroit, and I love black people," Rock said at the Detroit NAACP chapter’s annual fundraiser, where he recieved an award for advocating for his native Detroit.

Rock said his use of the flag didn’t reflect his attitude about race, but rather was a throwback to idol Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Rock's words weren’t enough to appease protesters outside of Detroit’s Cobo Center, who according to the Associated Press burned a replica of the flag and held signs reading “No to Kid Rock.”

“It stands for hatred, bigotry, racism, murder," said Detroit political strategist Adolph Mongo, who spoke on behalf of the protesters. "Every bigot and racist in this country loves that flag."

Despite the 60 or so protestors outside, fundraiser attendees cheered for Rock when he walked on stage to accept the award.

The rapper announced that his foundation would donate $50,000 to several Detroit nonprofit organizations, as well as $50,000 in relief to states that had been hit by recent tornados.

“That's what Detroit city is all about," said Rock.

I live in Detroit and trust me, this city has way more important problems than Kid Rock being honored by the local NAACP.

Maybe they are trying to switch it up a little bit, bring in some Kid Rock associated donations dollars. This might not be a workable idea for some, but it may be a factor somewhere in this situation.

Kid Rock is very convincing as a redneck. I can't believe Pam Anderson fucked him. He looks like he needs a bath...preferably in Lysol.

nod Sometimes there's something slightly sexy about him but he definitely looks like he'd benefit from a flea dip.

Ah!! One of the greats in southern traditions, the flea dip! Gritz, I would be layin' down with that dog.

So does the Stars and Stripes. What's the difference?

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

They are so full of shit sometimes, it ain't even funny! Ludacris could show up at the Freedom Fund Dinner in Detroit, wearing this...

as long as he had a fat donation check in his hand, I'll bet cash money, not a word would be said! disbelief

This is not even the same thing when viewed in the context of the WHOLE performance and message Luda was tryna send. Kid Rock is not making a statement about ending racism when he wears a Confederate flag, Ludacris was. Kid Rock says he's showing pride of Southern roots (which is odd since he's from Michigan), while Luda was talking about the shame of racism.

In response to the Confederate Flag being worn by Chris "Ludacris" Bridges on the VIBE Awards.

The discussions that have been sparked after my performance of "Georgia" at the 2005 VIBE Awards is my exact reason for wearing a depiction of the Confederate Flag. This flag represents the oppression that we as African Americans have endured for years; this is a symbol of segregation and the racism that reigned not only throughout the South but throughout the entire United States. I wore it to represent where we came from, to remind people that Ray Charles' original "Georgia" was written because of that racism.

At the end of the performance, I removed and stomped on the flag to reveal my version of the flag; a flag comprised of black, red and green. Those are the colors of Africa. It is a representation and my interpretation of where we were and where we need to go. Racism is just as prevelant now and if we are not constantly mindful of our history and take charge of it; history is destined to repeat itself because of ignorance. In order to move forward, we must never forget where we were

I hope people continue to question and challenge authority, media and themselves because questioning and challenging can only lead to enlightenment.

Chris "Ludacris" Bridges

Agreed.

In other news, ain't Kid's beloved son black (or technically speaking, bi-racial)? He's always come off as such a doting dad I 've never believed there was a prejudiced or racist bone in his body, although I'm not fond of his cow towing use of the confederate flag. But then when I was younger I had friends from Texas who absolutely insisted that their support of that flag had nothing to do with race in the 20th century vs. states rights, so, I'm sometimes divided on it. Anyhoo, Ludicris looks like a fool in that pic.

I've always liked Kid Rock and never got from him he was the least bit racist. And watching him on Run's House sleeping in Russy's room totally endeared him to me. But, having a child with a black woman, doesn't give him or anybody else a pass. Hell, lotsa slaveowners fucked black women and had children with them and that didn't make them any less racist.

AMEN!

You ain't preachin'!

Kid Rock been donning that confederate flag since jump. He's a cracker southeren white boy and he grew up with that flag. He has a black son for crying out loud. Dude isn't racist. Maybe a tad low on the IQ pole but not racist. I get the sensitivity around the use of the flag but like I said, dude been donning that flag since we first saw him and to expect him to change now is ridiculous. That's like expecting Bill Clinton to all of a sudden stop being a ho. Some things are just set in stone.

He's not a Southern white boy. He was born, raised and still lives in Michigan. Suburban Detroit.

This Kid Rock info reminds me of that female rapper Bo$$ who fronted like she was from the hood when in reality she went to private school and came from middle class background. It's amazing the image that some of these celebs try and portray all in order to secure a certain fan base. How many of Kid's redneck fans know that he isn't truly "one of them". Still, knowing this now makes me laugh even harder at the NAACP.

What's really funny is a white father of a black (biracial) son not having a problem rockin' the Confederate flag cuz it looks cool. White folks always hollerin' about raising mixed kids with an awareness of their "white" side. This makes me wonder how much black awareness this kid is getting outside of the history of hip-hop. hmmm

[Edited 3/14/11 16:46pm]

I'm sure there are plenty of folks in Michigan who will have no trouble reminding him of his "Black" side. Complete with history lessons.

rolleyes Girl, please. None of that explains the context of Luda's picture which is clearly what I'm talking about.

The 'context' of Luda's picture was he could come to the Freedom Dinner drapped in the confedrate flag as long as he had a fat donation check, I bet cash money, nothing would be said.

Is that explaination enough for you? Or are you just really that dense?

So they are honoring Kid Rock because of a fat donation check?

What of how Luda ended that performance? Nothing said there either?

I think you missed the point on the "why" Luda came dressed like that. It was his intention to dress like that so he could shed light on the negative images that flag conjured up. It wasn't just some fashion statemement he was making.

My point wasn't about Luda. My point was about the members of the Detroit Chapter of the NAACP, that are boycotting Kid Rock, being full of shit. Nothing more, nothing less. shrug

Thank you. Now I understand your point. But I disagree. Luda's was part of a specific performance, not suggestive or suggesting a lifestyle and attendant perceptions.

Ok but the problem with that is you posted a picture of Luda, so how is that showing the NAACP is full of shit?

Exactly.
