Not trying to take this thread in another direction but you know, if two black men huggged that much on a stage nowadays, the headlines the next day would be full of gay rumours.
Its just a marker of how society has changed in such a short time.
Peace be unto the souls of both of these brothas who are legends in their own respective games. I have an admitted James Brown bias, but Sammy was a great entertainer as well.
I noticed how they kept calling each other "Brother" or "my Brother"and I could tell that they really felt that way about each other. There was such a sincerity about it, that was very endearing.
We're sorely lacking that kind of love and compassion for one another, in the world we live in today.

It's been replaced with "N*gga" or "My N*gga"
That term of endearment b.s.
Sad but not totally true. "My N*gga" is just a homey or friend, anybody can be that and often is.
Whereas "My Brother" goes deeper than that. It's about the connection we all share with each other, both physically and spiritually, that bonds us together. The term is still used today, it's the sincerity of it that's missing.
I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.
