mint condition is one of the most under rated bands of all time. I don't know why they don't get more respect and airplay.

Remember, this was their first record and that was a promotional tour. I was disappointed back then, too. I also understand that when you are on promo tours, you have no budget and you have to make the dates "by any means necessary". People format their shows as best as possible in order to make that happen. I guess getting the vocals happening over a "full sound" was more important than appearing as a "band" rather than a "group". It was the vocal group era back then. (Jodeci, Boys2Men, etc.)

Newjack swing was still in. [img:$uid]http://i307.photobucket.com/albums/nn294/SpiritCo/facepalm/Smiley-Facepalm.gif[/img:$uid]

I actually liked the vocals. I'd never seen them without their gear.

Yes there was a brief time. I remember when they were on Video Soul late 1994 after

From The Mint Factory was out about a year and a half and they were talking to Donnie

about that. They said from that point on they weren't doing anymore track shows because

they felt empty and it was embarrassing knowing that they were a band and they were only

gonna do live shows from that point on.

Co-Sign...these auto-tuned pretenders out today can't stand in the same room with Stoke...

It worked out pretty well I'd say...............

I think this new project may push them past my fav Prince.

Did I just say that?

As a band, I think I'm ready to say they've got him. But as a front man yeah P still holds the title.

The reason they're underrated is because the days of the "Black Band" has passed. Had they come out in the 70s/80s, they would've been bigger than they are now, mentioned in the same vein as EWF, The Commodores, and Cameo.

Wow!!! This is how they ended up getting lumped in with H-Town, After 7, Silk and all the other male, black "vocal" groups of the early to mid-90's. They had to make compromises early on that may have given audiences the impression that they were a group as opposed to a band....

I enjoyed that little piece of history, though. Thanks for posting... I'm ALWAYS searching for 90's Mint performances. Especially DOAB era.
