Adele or Amy Winehouse

I like Adele, but I LOVE Amy, in all her crackhead glory. Can't wait for some new stuff from her.

Amy, please. I like Adele for what she is, which is fine. But Amy's voice is another level.

Adele can sing. Amy sounds like she's on smack and being kicked in the cunt most of the time.

Adele is okay.

Amy is a naturally gifted singer and songwriter with soul.

I'll get slayed for this, but I'll take Duffy over both of them.

Duffy sounds like an overheated chipmunk and I don't think she is a natural soul singer in the least.

Trueiopian, just out of curiousity-do you not think Adele is naturally gifted as singer and songwriter?

Maybe, but her songs are a lot more fun and interesting than Adele's.

Adele is super-talented, love her.

But, when she's together and on.... AMY has a rare gift of days gone by.

Gabriella Cilmi.

I also love it how she sold out her Amy Winehouse-ish image to become Kylie Lite. biggrin

I agree with the bolded lol

Adele is a great talent with a very nice voice but I wouldn't say she's a natural. Amy is a rare talent that doesn't come around too often in the industry.

If I can just listen to Back In Black, Amy. If I had to see a live show, well, Adele is the one who can still get through a verse without gasping for breath.

I didn't much like Adele's first album, but I admit I didn't give it much of a try. I did like "Chasing Pavements" though. So I picked up 21 cuz "Rolling in the Deep" is my jam and this song right here blew me away.

It's hard to say if either is "better" than the other as their voices are so different from each other, on top of being so different from typical stuff you hear.

21 is a really awesome album, though. I hope Amy can pull it together to make a third one.

Adele all the way. I love that girl's voice and her songwriting.

Amy completely lost me when I saw the video of her singing that racist football song. She could literally fall off a cliff and I could care less now, which is sad because before that I did have a lot of her music and enjoyed her as an artist. However, I will NEVER condone that level of ignorance, bigotry and disrespect from an artist, especially one who wouldn't have a career if it wasn't for many of those blacks, Pakis, and gays she insulted with that bs.

perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...

Amy all the way! Granted it's a bit of a lazy comparison (both Brits doing retro aspects, both singer/songwriters who won a best new artist Grammy) but they're very different in terms of voice and style. The transformation from Frank to Back to Black was amazing. I loved Black all the way through, it's just such an emotionally raw record. With Adele it's been more about the singles but with Rolling I'm looking forward to 21.
