He is going on tour with Janelle Monae, maybe her greatness will rub off on him.

...and maybe his ability to write a melodic hook the masses can relate to will rub off on her? shrug

He is great when it comes to that clapping. And as I like catchy melodies boxed I enjoy some of his songs a lot nod.

With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

Bruno Mars is growing on me. I found him to be a bit boring at first but he's becoming more appealing with each single. He is a work in progress whereas Justin Bieber has probably already reached his peak.

I'M NOT SAYING YOU'RE UGLY. YOU JUST HAVE BAD LUCK WHEN IT COMES TO MIRRORS AND SUNLIGHT!
RIP Dick Clark, Whitney Houston, Don Cornelius, Heavy D, and Donna Summer. rose

He definitely has talent, he can sing and play guitar/drums/keys : that's pretty cool. I listened to his album and I thought it sucked. Not that it was boring but most of the tracks sounded like a corny TV show soundtrack. I did like 1 or 2 songs, but that's it.

In the other hand, I think he could be a strong live act, I've seen good performance of him but the last one (Grammy) wasn't good. I watched it my girl who never heard any of his music and she was like "ewww this guy can't sing, he sounds flat as hell" I didnd't want to admit it first but he shited on himself that night.

@ Danny : 'It's Our First Time' is my fav song on that album

He's not bad, but not good. I do like 2 of his songs but in 5 years he won't be around. He's very overrated.

I'm tired of the MJ comparison he has though. He doesn't sound like him, he doesn't sing the same music (with the exception of the covers). The only comparison is that Bruno is trying to look like Michael during Off The Wall/Thriller.

haha he won't be around in 5 years?????

the dude is huge now but with his next album he's gonna blow up to the likes we havent seen in many years in music

the man is probably the most talented singer, songwriter & performer that has come along in 25 years

lol Well, f*** the masses, if the masses don't get it, that's good in my book.

That's easy to say when you're not trying to sell records. Until she gets her "Purple Rain", she'll be known as a talented chick with good ideas instead of a talened woman with good SONGS. Sometimes the masses get it but they just don't LIKE it. She doesn't have that one song that makes people relate to her yet. I'm sure its coming but its not there yet...but...back to Bruno...

[Edited 3/9/11 5:26am]

It's a two edged sword in that Prince branded himself so well with Purple Rain that it continues to be the backdrop by which everything else he does will be forever judged and I mean by the general public, not orgers.

So I agree that Janelle has yet to release "that song", but she also needs to be careful with the whole Cindy Mayweather persona or she will be stuck there. I think she's refreshing and has great potential...the only thing that's starting to irk me is the hair. lol

Back to Bruno. Very talented but unlike Janelle, his material does nothing for me. Lucky for him, I'm probably not in his target audience anyway.

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

His songs have very cliche/bland lyrics and aren't really doing anything for me.

The best thing he's done IMO is the hook to "Nothin On You" by B.O.B.

He does have a good range as a singer though, he can hit some pretty high notes.....on record.

The live performance at the Grammys was pretty bad, he was way pitchy!

Music, sweet music, I wish I could caress and...kiss, kiss...

I much rather see an artist like Rahsaan Patterson be a big star. If that means Bruno Mars is also a star, fine, I can live with that. I've heard much worse.

The real world is too painful..lol

I like that he sings with passion (Missing in today's music). However, his songs are MEH. shrug And don't get me started on those dreadful lyrics.

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment
