Breathe ~ Hands To Heaven

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Great song. I always thought it was underrated. Its a pretty melody and has some nice lyrics. I'm not fond of the extended mix, though. Nowadays people will shit bricks when they hear the word "heaven" or "pray" as if you just yelled out the "n" word in the middle of the Million Man March or something. I think it was very ncely written and reflects a sentiment that seems to have been all but abandoned by pop music writers.

It seems like most contemporary pop music writers are allergic to substance.

Ahh, Breathe (no pun intended). This was my song back in the late 80s. That whole album was nice.
