Katy Perry - Tennage Dream

So 3 weeks ago my wife asks me to go online and find a couple of Elmo videos for our son Joshua who is almost 2. Dude loves some Elmo

Anyhow... I came across this chick Katy Perry on one of the Sesame Street episodes. I don't listen to radio so I had no clue who she was but I remembered thinking 1) she’s hot and 2) she could sing

The other night while doing my graduate homework I remembered the Grammys were on. I took a break and there she was strutting up and down the stage singing Teenage Dream... they flashed to Nicole Kidman who was bobbing her head and singing every single word. I remember thinking wow that was kinda hot and the song wasn't bad either

Today at work prior to me leaving the office something reminded me that I was going to check out the song on iTunes. I did and I blasted that fucker all the way home.

There is an art to writing a pop record.... and she nailed it in this song. The hook is ridiculous, the dance beat and bouncy keyboard reminds of Prince and the lyric... made me want to get home as fast as a I could and make love to my wife. Anybody that has been in love knows exactly what she is talking about. The bridge, the chorus, the lyric, the drum track and yeah she can sing her tail off

Very nice piece of work

To me a pop record is one that no matter where you are from, culture or background... a good POP records makes you stop in your tracks ... bob your head and start to hum the lyrics after hearing it only once or twice

Katy Perry CHECK!

I think that "Teenage Dream" is a fantastic song. Slick, big and fun.

Be aware that the song was composed by a team of folks and we don't really know the extent of Katy's writing influence on the song. However, her material has always been very well chosen.

"Teenage Dream" writers credits: Katy Perry, Lukasz Gottwald, Max Martin, Benjamin Levin, Bonnie McKee

very scary indeed!! However i would sleep with Katy in a second, and her tracks are cool, she doesnt take herself serious which is why she isnt annoying, like others.....

She can't sing, she's just choosing good songs for her voice. Listen to her live, she sucks.

I like Teenage Dream, E.T and Hummingbird Heartbeat. They're all great tracks, especially E.T.

Max Martin is a beast when it comes to writing catchy pop tunes.

I was a fan of the singles on her last album, but even though this album's singles have been bigger hits, they don't do much for me.

Teenage Dream is so generic, don't get all the hype.

She's very pretty and yes, the songs are tailor-made 4 her voice, but (a.) she seems to have a superiority complex goin' on and (b.) she tends to imitate Alanis Morrisette's exhaled breaths (which are natural for Alanis). For Perry, it's as if she's just making the sound (2b cool). All it "sounds" like are a bunch of yelping "noises." a.k.a. "hiccups." THAT, to ME, is what's annoying. It's in her vocal delivery. She seems to have a powerful voice, but maybe that's only when it's thickened up in the studio? Not sure. Maybe she DOES suck. I can't really tell. eek

Hungry? Just look in the mirror and get fed up.

Yes, Teenage Dream is a great song...better than California Gurls I'd say. That bombastic, kick-ass chorus was made for blasting it at full volume while driving down the highway with your windows down.

I don't listen to the radio either, but escaping "I Kissed a Girl" is very impressive. I didn't think that was possible.

I think she got the BEAT from Fergie's Remix Of "Beat It"

It sounds just like it
