James Howard Kunstler made a good point about Eminem, America. Kunstler, who is a social critic, says that Eminem represents the insecurity of America. He said this while watching the wierd Crystler commercial about Detroit, where images were not of Detroit or so said Kunstler, who is an expert on suburbia and travel. So Eminem basically lied about Detroit, willing to exploit his own town for a shitty commercial by a shitty car company. According to Kunstler, Em looked like a 'sullen retch' in the video, with slumped shoulders, looking depressed, even though he is a successful rapper with money.
This makes me think of the Grammies where Em acts the same way--the sullen loser. This is how America is now acting. We are Eminem! lol
I'm sick..lol The sad thing is that it is true. All you others say Hell Yea!! | |

Actually, I'm familiar iwth James Howard Kuntsler's work, and while he has made some spot on biting observations about American society at large (particularly about the shortcomings of suburbia, the failings of plutocracy, and the oil crisis, a lot of his work is just ranting about how America is going to hell in a handbasket, yet he offers few if any alternatives about how we can get out of the mess we are in. You can read his archives and see exactly how this country fell into the disaster we are in, but I'm looking for solutions to get out.
