But wait...I read on the other thread that R&B is dead. This simply can not exist according to some of the orgers. Oh, wait...maybe this isn't R&B? rolleyes

His whole record is good.
Too bad he will get no love from the masses for this. Its devoid of stereotypes, so the mainstream will have no interest in it and deem it irrelevant.
There are too many taboos:
A black man and a black woman loving each other and not just objectifying each other.
No thugs or "hood" shots.
No cussing.
No spewing of bravado, egotism or drug pushing.
No glorification of materialism.
No "drama" or arguing between the male and female characters in the video.
No disses; subliminal or straightforward.
No oversexed imagery.
The corporations that pimp the music media would have no use at all for this video (except maybe the diamond industry if there was a better shot of the ring).
"This negro isn't doing any of the things the handbook says he should be doing" wink
I hope he keeps on not doing what's expected of him. Somebody has to set an example. Plus its a good song on top of all that!

In a perfect world, this guy would be receiving non-stop airplay and media attention. Kinda makes me ill that it won't happen.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

There is definitely something about her. She got not only one sexy singer... but TWO!

exactly. What's the deal with her? She seems pretty intelligent and sharp, if a little stiff (at least, w/ Prince she seemed stiff as a board).

^ (Disregarding the scandalous stalking behavior during her project "get Prince" years) Mani seems to have the good girl next door personality along with head turning beauty. What's not to like?
