you don't know how happy you just made me... i've been feeling pretty down (due to a close friend's transition), and it's been difficult to get back up. but the japan footage makes me happy when i watch it for some reason. and i love his hands so very much. they are absolutely beautiful hands (i love them especially the older he got). he's got old man hands, and i love that. i'm always searching for close-up hand shots of michael's. thank you again...

Yeah, his hands are something. I was also staring at them with delight. I love his hands - those long, thin fingers. As a man, he's got the most beautiful hands ever.

'piano hands' they call it. people tell me that all the time about my hands. but i love michael's hands more than my own. his hands lend to years of narratives. i love how, as he got older they got all these spots and veins and hangnails and calluses. they were kind of puffy, similar to someone who's just getting older.

i have seen this before, but i cannot remember where... is this on the HIStory or 'dangerous' DVD? i have them all on VHS, so they don't have the 'making of' clips. i wanted to get the HIStory DVD because there actually were some 'making of' clips, and that's the stuff i'm really interested in: the process. thanks for posting.

This one is not on the dvd, but there is a making of Black or White. Since you're new here, you probably haven't seen this yet. But beware, ladies who've seen it couldn't breathe.

oh yes, i actually HAVE seen this clip... it was about a ten-minute clip or so, they did on MTV? i liked how playful he was in it, if i recall. i can't say i stopped breathing... i do like how stylish the video was though. it was a classic herb ritts moment. i thought michael looked great though. he looked healthy, very attractive. it was nice to see him looking so fit, and not so small that you wanted to take him home and feed him. i liked his moves, he was workin' it. but yeah, i wanna see more hand shots! always!

Did anyone know that Rabbi Shumley had a new book out?

The conversations, although similar to the ones in his first book (on children, parenting, reflections on his own childhood), are different.

I heard its similar to the first one,but he has not included his interpretations and comments as he did with the first book.

PICTURE Ladonna Jones with Michael's autograph)
http://img602.imageshack....880470.jpg

When Ladonna Jones thinks about the King of Pop, she can't help but remember The Kiss.

"People ask: 'Did he really kiss you on the cheek or did he give you a peck?' " she said. "He kissed me. He planted his lips on my cheek."

In July 1984, Ladonna, then 11, received national attention after she wrote a letter complaining about the way tickets for the Jacksons' Victory Tour were sold. The Lewisville girl worked hard to scrape together enough cash to buy a $30 ticket for a Texas Stadium performance, only to find out tickets had to be purchased in groups of four.

Jackson heard about the letter and mentioned her name during a press conference. Ladonna received free tickets to see the concert. She met him backstage, where he kissed her.

Twenty-five years later, as she reflects on the concert, and Jackson's death Thursday, Jones says her idol is now at peace.

"I'm relieved he will be happy and he won't have to go through all the scrutiny he's gone through," Jones, 36, of Highland Village said Sunday. "No one will ever come close to matching what he did, not just musically. He changed the world. He helped so many people.

"Who today could die and have the impact that Michael Jackson has had?"

But it was Jones herself who made quite the impression on Jackson – and attracted intense media attention.

Jones did chores for neighbors and baby-sat to save enough money for a concert ticket. But when she learned that you couldn't buy just one ticket, she penned a letter to Jackson and mailed it to The Dallas Morning News. It ran in the paper.

"Dear Michael," she wrote. "I've always believed you to be a person of feeling up until now. I'm so disappointed in you. How could you of all people be so selfish? Is your appearance here in Texas Stadium only for the rich?"

A few days later, Jackson announced he would donate concert tour money to charity and asked that the ticket-distribution policy be eliminated.

"The other day I got a letter from a girl in Texas named Ladonna Jones," Jackson said.

The News ran a front-page story with the headline: "Yes, Ladonna, dreams really do come true." She was featured in newspaper and television reports nationwide.

But Jones was a shy girl, so she wasn't thrilled with the media coverage. She said she didn't want to be famous.

Jones received four tickets to a Jacksons performance, a limo ride to Texas Stadium and clothing to wear at the show. She wore a jacket with red pinstripes and a shirt featuring the face of her hero.

Backstage, Jones met Jackson.

"His hands were so big," she said. "That's what stuck out."

He told her he liked her shirt. He asked her if she liked his music. ("Of course," she told him.)

He autographed an album: "Love, Michael Jackson 1998." (She never figured out why he wrote 1998.)

After the kiss, she was floating.

"I'm going to die," she recalled thinking as she headed back to her seat. "It felt like my legs were going to give out. It was so weird."

When she sat down, people wanted her autograph.

"Here I am, 11 years old, barely learning cursive, and I'm trying to give autographs."

Jones said she feels blessed to have had the chance to meet the pop star and talk with him.

"Nothing in life tops that moment," she said. "Nothing comes close."

yeah... 'and a little child shall lead them', as it is said... she inspired michael to speak out against the fiasco called the ticket lottery. he seemed so far removed from the process previously (since he didn't like don king) but she inspired him to do positive things.

thanks, ladonna.

Oh, and I think it was in LA and 1982.

Yes, that's it! Thank you. I wonder if MJ was between sessions working on Thriller at this time since it was 1982 and in L.A. I'd also love to hear some audio on that live duet with Patti. Not a song MJ ever sang live, that was rare.

yeah, i have seen this numerous times. i always love watching this... just the first part though. i can't watch the last half; the brothers remind me too much of their father, throwing insults back and forth to each other about their beautiful natural hair, insiuating their brothers are feminine and so forth. it's painful to watch. at least for me anyways.

just watching michael with wansel's son is a gift. he was always preparing to be a father. it's a gift to recognize the needs of children. he didn't try to push him, if he didn't want to sing or dance. and when he's picking the child's hair with the afro pick when all the brothers (and adults) are goofing off... such a gift. it was as if he was consciously acting against how he was treated.

I've seen articles that stated that he looked good. Either it's photoshop or somebody's lying. I don't think what I've stated was complicated.

i haven't seen too many articles stating he looked good. a lot of what we see is photoshop... for instance, the Q magazine cover shoot they did with him, promoting the O2 residency: DEFINITELY reworked/photoshopped. the photographer stated he didn't look all that well, and that they doctored some things.

and in undoctored photos i have seen of him, taken by fans or whatever, i happen to think he looked pretty ill. he loked like his body was under a lot of stress. i've also seen some pretty interesting articles on hand health experts/palmists... they focused a lot on the discoloration of his nails. one theory is that may have had to do with autoimmune issues; others state that's it's a straight up fungus issue. either way, all signs point to a health issue.

whenever i HAVE seen articles staing he looked good, it's usually from people who were doing some sort of promotional thing, related to the O2 residency. it was rarely to ever independent of that. this usually countered everything else i have seen. so i agree with you, somebody IS lying, and a lot of it IS photoshop.
