Who knows about Jessie J?

Most people I know discovered this amzing talent with this video

http://www.youtube.com/wa...swOLHUQFPk

She's from Essex, England - just outside London. She wrote Part in the USA for Miley but throw that out the window, hear her sing there ^^ and see her debut single/video here

um seriously. She is a cute girl. BUT. her voice is just not unique and its all over the place.

bottom line you can go around the corner of any black neighborhood and find a girl that can sing like that.

Identity

I caught one of her clips on YouTube. Frankly, I don't get the hype; she's too ordinary and bland.

dirtyman2005

this whole thing is very suspicious.

in the last month the internet and tv has been bombard with promos and interviews with this jessie J. Looks like some kind of cheap marketing ploy.

I thought the exact same thing. And I agree with dirtyman, there's some obvious PR money being spent right now.

I thought the cringeworthy era of white girls trying to be ghetto and speaking patois had died after Lady Sovereign was dropped from Def Jam.... but apparently not.

Oh well, best of luck to her. She's cute. But I just hope the next single is much better than the current one. And the label need to ease up on the PR, she's getting overexposed. I heard her name about a million times before I even heard the song.

Neophyte

She's okay, she can sing, but it would be nice it looked a bit more natural on her. All the over exageration of phrasing and shit looks like trying to hard.

Also as someone said above, you can find girls who sing like her, if not better, in most black neighbourhoods...just saying.

"I know that living with u baby, was sometimes hard...but I'm willing 2 give it another try.
Cause nothing compares....nothing compares 2 u!"

I only found out about her recently.

I liked the song "Like a Dude", thought it was cute, but wasn't really sold on Jessie herself...

I didn't know she had pipes like THAT, though. eek

Amazing.

I don't think "Like a Dude" really showed exactly what she can do.

"I don't think you'd do well in captivity." - random person's comment to me the other day
