I wonder if she or her label will do anything to commemorate her 20 years.

my baby heart

I still remember famming out over that Artist of the Decade speech back in 99 with that fabulous entrance (and the Tommy Mottola jab, duh lol)

Love her old music and voice.

The butterfly album is where I noticed a distinct drop in quality, but still decent.
After that, she became worse and worse. Worse songs, worse voice, more acting like a hoe to try and make up for it! lol

I have most of her albums if not all and her "hoe-ish" albums as some of you put them have some underrated gems on them that don't get enough credit. She continued being a good writer.

I've always liked Mariah. It's like she had the soul and wasn't afraid to be a little "street" more than Whitney, who I'm a bigger fan of. I LOOOOVE every album up to Butterfly, which I also love. I saw butterfly as more of an R&B album, more than the pop she was usually doing. It was my shit. I played it over and over and over. It was downhill from there sad

My All, Baby Doll, The Roof, Breakdown...bomb songs...

I still don't get hoe vibe,,,despite all the skimpy wardrobe/Betty Boop persona.

She can do the Louisiana bounce with nothing covering her ass but a splash of baby oil and will still come off extremely asexual lol

I even bought the 7 Mile album from her short lived label and Penny Ford album from the early 90s.

I tried to listen to the Michael Bolton album just coz she wrote a song for him, but I ended up fearing I might get an ulcer from listening to this fool barf

See, her "lambs" used to jump on my case for not being a true fan when I used to post in there,,,,but I know the score cool

I've enjoyed more than a few of her songs over the years (mostly the earlier years), but she's always managed to rub me the wrong way for some reason. shrug

Regardless, 20 years is impressive. clapping I still remember when "Vision of Love" debuted.

What's this performance from? I have been listening to "Without You" more recently, as I found the "Never Forget You" 12" and it's on there.

My eldest sister had the first two MC albums, I had Music Box, my younger sister had Daydream. Sometime later I went back and got them all. Seeing her live on the Mimi tour turned me out and made me a total stan.

20 years of the same shit. She never grew or matured as an artist in any way, shape or form. Her new Xmas album is a joke.

And I couldn't remember if this intro even had a beat on it. I was over on CD Universe listening to a snippet of "Mariah Carey (skit)" and the intro.

Been a fan of hers since I was little, but never saw her live. Was she really great? I've seen videos of her performances, and apart from the ballads, I figured I wasn't missing much.

I liked her sexy look during Butterfly. It was sexy, but not over-reaching. But I think she was just trying something new for her image in the early 2000s, which became a bit too distracting and aimless. She just felt her public persona was missing "personality" and now she's doing the whole Diva thing, which is better. Her lambs seem to love it lol

Well, I am certainly biased now. It was my favorite concert I've ever been to.

I also jam to "Honey" like it just dropped last week.
