You have to be a real harcore fam to suffer through this. A studio version should never have been recorded in my opinion, much less take up almost half an album which could have been devoted to better compositions. "The Lord's Prayer" should have remained a live anomaly relegated to a live EP or b-side of a 12" single. Ugh.

If early horror punk is what you're after then I suggest Super Heroines, 45 Grave or early Christian Death. I think they go along great with the Banshees' Join Hands album.

I agree with sextonseven on this one. I like The Scream, but not so much Join Hands. Also, I think the Banshees really only became magical with Kaleidoscope, Juju and A Kiss in the Dreamhouse. love

And I'm sure you already know about Misfits. Everyone and their mom wears their t-shirt. lol

My favorite Misfits song:

Very cool albums all, but know The Banshees ditched punk to try on their new wave hats for Kaleidoscope before settling into their signature sound on Juju.

Yes I do and I've heard a lot of tracks from them lately. They rock. headbang I honestly think though that some who wear the shirt have no idea about the group. lol

This is where we disagree. lol I think the addition of John McGeoch helped them find their signature sound, which is more like a signature approach, I feel. Kaleidoscope is the first album I feel where they really stretched themselves, and that continued throughout the 80s, but especially on the 3 albums I mentioned!

I will agree that Kaleidoscope sounds closer to Juju and any Banshees album after that than Join Hands and The Scream, but that's it. razz
