I love the spoof. It's interesting... I like some of his comedy but this proves his limitations. He didn't get any better when he hosted again in 2003, I believe.

Katt Williams had him for a minute... but he's not in the scene at this time, right? What happened to him?

True. I still wonder if he's gonna have another stand-up special though. He seems fixated on films/humanitarian efforts at the moment.

He had a meltdown a while ago and he said he's "retired" from the comedy stage though he's been only popular for like three years. lol

Didn't he have some psychological issues and have to be admitted for care? He was always a desperate act to me.

Yeah. There was a video of him at I think a bank and he was all stammering around, like he was gonna faint. He was admitted to a mental hospital shortly afterwards.

Katt never had anything for a minute. His whole act was an act (a pimp). Dave Chappelle had Chris for a hot second, but Chris Rock has been the top comic (at least black comic) since 1996.

That's true. Dave Chappelle definitely was the competition.

He seems to do one every 3-5 years.

1994 Big Ass Jokes

1996 Bring The Pain

1999 Bigger and Blacker

2004 Never Scared

2008 Kill The Messenger

201? ...

Hopefully Kevin Hart can do a Dave Chappelle and blow up!!

Before Chris Rock dominating from the late 90s on, it was Martin Lawrence in the mid 90s for a few years, Damon Wayans for a few years in the early 90s and maybe Arsenio or Robert Townsend for a year or so in the late 80s.

Yeah it's a cycle. There is gonna be another one emerging, just don't know who but if he plays his cards right, Kevin might be the NEXT one.

Well I never laughed through an entire show like I did the Pimp Chronicles pt.2

I laughed until I cried. I use lines from that show often in my every day conversations...

If it's not Kev, than I don't know who will be the NEXT.

Seriously, there is no young comics right now in the game, that have an overall sense of comedy.

Yeah, he did go pretty hard on MJ. Even if you believed the stories... he really really was hard. Like it was personal. He was a brief kill joy to the show. I was glad when he moved on.

Yeah, no one's trying to really be original either, I've noticed that for a minute. Someone new needs to come out and make us laugh to make us not get all ticked off. Though I admit we still have old Richard Pryor, Bill Cosby and Redd Foxx albums to warm us over. lol nod

But he still stayed on it until the end lol

Either way, he already had peaked by then though I admit he did have some moments in the last two stand-ups he did, well the one he did after Pimp Chronicles was crappy but the one after that was good. Especially when he got on the motorcycle bit.

I hate on Katt, but wont lie Katt is/was funny from time. But that whole pimp act got tiresome, dude was a pimp in everything he played, he type-casted himself and that's probably why he went crazy/is not working today. Also, sometome his material he reused it a lot. I seen him on I think 4 different specials/shows between 2004-2006 (BET Comedy Awards / BET Comic View / Def Comedy Jam / Pimp Chronicles) say the exact same thing on a few instenses.

And than MJ, I heard comics talk about MJ before nothin new, but he took it to a whole new level. It was a force full showinfg, the crowd was shocked and not Paul Mooney like shocked. He was forcing the audience to laugh and it wasn't funny.

Most of the audience's responses were " confused neutral eek sad boxed disbelief " lol

Have you noticed there is no more stand up television on anymore, I mean none.

No Comic View, no Def Comedy Jam, no Premium Blend, no HBO One Night Stand, no HBO Comedy Half-Hour, No Comic Remix, No Comic Strip Live, No Evening at the Improv, No MTV Comedy Half-Hour, no nothing. They tried with Live at the El-Rey but that was not very good ... well 1st Amendment Stand-Up on Starz, but that's it.

I's like it was before the comedy exlposion in the mid-80s. Hate it or not, stand up was at anall-time high in the lat 80s up untill the late 90s.
