I was going to go see her perform last year but didn't get a chance

I wanted to start a topic on her to ask how to get into her. I have loved Feel For You since the mid 80's as a little kid, and I love Aint Nobody. Through the Fire is nice, and I looooooooove her vocals in Higher Love and was happy when I found out it's her.

What are some good recommendations?

Great to read that you are going to explore Chaka's great catalog. I recommend any of the Rufus stuff as well as her solo work. Here are some of my favorite songs.

Solo

I'm Every Woman

Through the Fire

My Funny Valentine

Angel

One for All Time

Clouds

Whatcha Gonna Do For Me

I Know You, I Live You

Move Me No Mountain

I Feel for You

(with Rufus)

Close the Door

Pac'd My Bags

Circles

Stay

Sweet Thing

Smoking Room

Do You Love What You Feel

Please Pardon Me

Stop on By

It really was. You know I was listening to my Chaka smartlist today, and I forgot some of her solo jams.

Here are more of my favs for the person who wanted to explore Chaka's catalog:

Our Love's in Danger

So Naughty

Sleep on It

Roll Me Through the Rushes

Fate

Oh, and how could I forgot on of my Rufus favs, "At Midnight (My Love Will Lift You Up). The last minute or so of that song is Heaven sent. biggrin

One more oh, "Everlasting Love." One of my favorite Rufus jams.

The woman really does have a fantastic catalog.
