I listened to a great deal of it but had to cut it off. I just hate listening to interviews at length. Care to summarize what was tragic that she discussed?

In a nut shell, dude (I'm not even going to refer to him as an interviewer) went down her resume/bio (which has not been updated since 1984) and stated some facts pertaining to Bonnie's life and accomplishments. And after each fact, she in her usual chemically affected state, very briefly affirmed what was just said. Somewhere in the midst of reminding the listeners of her former career as an entertainer, there was an invitation to sleep over on his couch in the event she finds her way to Sweden. Bonnie let him know she was cool with couch-surfing and inquired about the possibility of getting some work there during her proposed visit. Dude shot her hopes down and told her Sweden is not really her market...she should try the UK. The conversation was concluded with dude plugging her forthcoming album 'Like a Picasso', due February 2011 [her first in 27 years]. Big things in the works for Bonnie. Big things. Can't wait.

I'm expected she sounded as if she was on that reefer/toot then when you say "usual chemically affected state". I'm also seeing that she got interviewed by the same dude who talked to Chris Jasper and Steve Arrington on his show.

That must be be some good shit 'cause it's been keeping her wholly occupied for 3 decades now.

Are we talking about DJ Soulswede (Souly)? Because I thought his audio interview with Chris Jasper was really good...a very in-depth and honest interview, it shed alot of light on the breakup of the Isley Brothers: (http://www.soulinterviews.com/news-archive/574-chris-jasper-in-open-conversation-with-dj-soulswede.html)

Wow. I was too dumb to figure out the chemically altered part. I just thought she was really exuberant.

She reminds me of those Aunts you meet once a year at Christmas. Not your Mom and Dad's sister Aunt but your Aunt's Aunt.

The one that's like 76 years old with a bottle of Courvoisier sitting at the table jamming to "Come Get To This."

(Aunt Courvoisier) "Come here my baby."

(Me) "Who the hell is that?"

(Parent) Son, that's your Aunt Courvoisier. She used to baby sit you in Omaha."

(Me) Oh.

(Parent) Go speak to her.

(Me) (Polite kiss on the cheek.) "Hi Aunt Courvoisier."

(Aunt Courvoisier) "Boy you act like you don't know nobody. Come give me a hug."

Then you are surrounded by a coating of the scent of Courvoisier. THEN she lights a menthol cigarettete and blows the smoke in your hair. And then she wants to talk.

(Aunt Courvoisier) (Slurs) "I remember when you was a baby and one time we were waiting for Diddle diddle and the damn cow (Laughs) jumped over the moon! You remember that?"

(Me) Uh, yeah.

(Aunt Courvoisier) (Mean look) "Boy, don't be. You just like your Father. (Laughs) Boy, ya know."

(Me) I'll be right back.

(Aunt Courvoisier) "Wait, baby. While you going that way I want you to get me a glass of ice. Tell the bartender I don't want nothing in the glass but a slice of lemon..."

(Me) "Uh, no I'm going the other way."

That may very well be the case. But what transpired between dude and Chris Jasper ain't got nothin' to do with the Bonnie Pointer "interview". IMO, neither party presented themselves in the best light. Bonnie sound like the pipe is still hot and dude sound like a computer converting text to speech.

I have no idea. There are some clips on YouTube from a couple years ago of Bonnie, Anita, and Ruth doing an impromptu performance at a club or some family event [that may be related to some reality show Anita's or Ruth's son is behind].

Anita and Ruth have been real quiet in recent years. I heard somewhere that Richard Perry and the Pointers were working on some new music. He might have mentioned it in passing when he was on Oprah recently. I don't recall. Whether or not Bonnie's involved with that...no clue. According to Bonnie, they'll be a new song on her forthcoming CD co-written by she and her 2 sisters called "Drop Those Pants" [Google it and you'll find a clip of her singing it in another scattered interview].

I would love to know what Bonnie's story is. Such a beautiful and talented lady [LOVE her voice, her early work with her sisters and her first solo album for Motown is phenomenal]. It looks like she was poised for more great things at one point and then she just dropped out of sight. To the casual observer, it looks like her career has been sidetracked by a serious drug addiction that she has not kicked. It was announced last summer that Bonnie was going to be on Dr. Drew's "Celebrity Rehab" reality show, but I don't think anything came of that. I don't watch the show but haven't read that she actually appeared on it.

But wasn't there some big to do about Bonnie being in rehab and finally getting sober?
