Lady Gaga in the next 5 years will her music be remembered Let's be honest Lady Gaga has been the hottest thing in music of last year some good and some bad but the corporate music world is intent on trying to make her an icon.
Sometimes being pushed too fast leads to serious burnout and Lady Gaga is possibly talented but will she substain the hype she has been getting
Lady Gaga in the next five years do you think she will still be around
Will her music be remembered because in my opinion Lady Gaga has nice catchy songs but the songs are not universal enough to will be held in a scale like Michael Jackson and Madonna
Madonna at least used lyrics that people can connect to who does not like Vogue, Like A Prayer, Borderline and Holiday
Lady Gaga's wants to put herself in that category but her music and her lyrics are not memorable enough that people will remember it in five years.
Lady Gaga here to stay or a flash in the pan

i hope she disappears then my close girlies can find better music to listen to.they all LOVE HER. they blarred her for the entire limo ride to nyc for the bachelorette party.....madonna started it and did it much better. she just copies her and sounds like pink
i swear some of their music choices are questionable. i need to convert them to diehard purple hippies!
i think we all love korn,u2 disturbed and phil collins...
most my friends like rock music but a few like her,and one likes all the boy bands and country. although she and her man love prince too i don't wear a cross?!!? i wear a prince symbol I When Prince's cum dries, diamonds are formed. no one tops prince in concert!

If her next album flops, she will just be remembered for "bad romance"...it's the only song of her i can imagine being a classic
Her other songs were huge too, but don't think they will be remembered very long [Edited 1/21/11 6:12am]

Yeah, everything is hanging on this next album. I would wait until then, because the future is uncertain.

Why not? If Britney and bad rap are still around.....

I think maybe this album will do well though possibly not as great and after that it will be quiet....unless she totally revamps herself, but then again, Christina did the same with Back to Basics which was good, and faded after that.

I don't doubt that she has at least one more smash album in her, and that the next one will be it...but will she survive after it, after the "new" of her begins to wear thin? Eh. That I can't say.

yeah I agree, I seriously felt confused for awhile whether the fame monster was a new album or a deluxe version

The way the music industry is these days...who knows. I used to be a die hard fan of hers up until last year. Stupid me brought concert tickets to see her this upcoming April, but a part of me really wants to give them away to anyone...idc anymore. I'm no longer a fan of Lady Gaga. She's annoying and so over the top now and I can't stand it. I've tried to get back into her again because I know she has a second album coming out and it's been hyped to death, but I just can't. I just got rid of her songs off my I-Tunes playlist recently.

I think they rushed the second EP waaay too fast...that where the problem lied. She needs to come back either very late this year or early next year Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

I bought concert tickets too cause my friend was begging and I was feeling her too. I don't care much for going now but will still do it, cause she won't find anyone to go with.

Yeah it's an EP. Her fault was trying to pull it off as a studio album but it's technically "The Fame 2.0". It was nothing wrong with putting it out as a deluxe edition. That said, I think her hype is wearing really thin right now.

I agree, it seems like her music has grown tiresome after such overexposure.
She can't surprise or shock people anymore, we are too familiar with the act. You're so glam, every time I see you I wanna slam!

Taylor Dayne..aww my girl...She deserved greater sucess.. speaking of those "Wild Orchid Girls" Fergie was supposedly supposed to be a newer generation version of her...maybe in looks. Taylor got way more soul than Fergie imo.
Ok to the question at hand.....
Lady Ga Ga is not completely void of talent but focuses on gimmicks way too much. Always trying to outdo herself when it comes to image. For the most part what gets an artist to be remembered for decades to come...Classic music. If she can put out quality pop songs like Madonna did decades before her.... We could talk.

Honestly though, I've kind of forgotten about GaGa already. Wasn't interested in her to begin with and saw her for the gimic and fake activist she is but appreciated her strong voice in a sea of Brittney's, Keshas and Katy Perry's. She has shot herself in the foot, just hope she's made enough money to buy some blinged out corrective shoes.

If a person who sings like a freakin wounded DUCK like Britany could have a #1 song 13 years into her career then a person with real talent like Gaga will be remembered MUCH longer than 5 years

Highlighted will end up in Rock N Roll Hall of Fame and be considered pioneers by historians. *When you factor into Shalamar had a decade long run of hits and should not be considered with the others but is nowhere near the groundbreaking sisterhood of the highlighted.

To be honest her music was played to death but I struggle to remember any of her songs, I can just about hum the chorus to Poker Face and that's about it. Saying that, it's a similar situation with Britney who was in a similar position approximately ten years ago... I can remember "Hit Me..." and "Oops..." but name another of her songs and chances are I will have forgotten it.

I hope that the Lady Gaga fad will die soon. Can't stand her music at all!!! Makes my ears bleed "I never wanted to be your weekend lover..."

I like Lady Gaga but I'm really not getting her supposed hugeness. She hasnt even been as big of a phenomenom as Britney Spears or Eminem were. At least I dont feel that sort of impact anyway. Its like the media always talks about her being this megastar but I dont hear people talking about her (besides music forums) and she hasnt had any wow moments that keep being brought up. At least where I'm from (Australia) I feel like Rihanna is just as loved as her and Beyonce was last year etc. I dont feel like shes above the rest the way Madonna and Michael (and even Britney) were.

Anyone who is so desperate for publicity that they're prepared to go out dressed in slabs of beef jerky will no doubt be making headlines for many more years to come.

after telephone, despite having her albums, I feel like I don't care for her but will still go to her show

If she is going to constantly try to out-do her image and wardrobe, then she will surely fail. I think her image is both what makes her famous and also holds her back.
After this upcoming album, I see a "stripped-down" GaGa (similar to Christina's Back To Basics). She almost has to.

5 years ? I swear I already don't remember any of her songs today jan 22nd 2011 ... Seriously I've heard that mess a couple of times when I was listening to the radio in the car, it never grabbed me but if she has a hardcore fanbase she will be remembered (at least by them)
