Aside from my girl Teena, I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the late Eva Cassidy. Her version of "Autumn Leaves" is outstanding! And how could I forget Boy George and his backup singer Helen Terry? If U can check out her song "Laughter On My Mind". Her voice is to die for!

Paul Weller deserves an honourable mention, too, not least for his Style Council work. I'm quite fond of his cover of Sister Sledge's Thinking of You at the moment, which fits the bill here nicely! cool

.... I would also add Beck, if only for his vocals on "Debra"

That song and all his other 'Prince-isms' on that album always crack me up! In a good way, though. biggrin

I used to play that song a lot to annoy my ex as she had a better looking sister named Debra lol

Don't you have to have blue eyes first? Some of these folk listed have brown eyes.

Yeah, and shouldn't you have to be from the country to make country music? Last time I checked Nashville is a city. lol To make "funk" music, you should avoid taking a bath and "salsa" is something you dip chips in. Also, since there is "easy listening", what is "difficult listening"? And is "psychobilly" made by loco hillbillies? razz

Anything by Justin Bieber lol

Thank You!!!lol

One of my fave recent discoveries! I own everything of his. Too bad he's not making new music. Although I've heard rumblings that he is. I dunno.

I also add:

Daniel Merriweather

Strickland Banks aka Plan B....think Motown, Smokey, Rap, and Rock...kinda cool.

Fantasy is reality in the world today. But I'll keep hangin in there, that is the only way.

Duffy...love her Rockferry album, but her latest album Endlessly isn't that great. Adele...love her 19 album and can't wait the 21 album to come out next month! And Amy Winehouse whom I used to be a die hard fan of has let me down. I'm over her now...she just can't seem to get herself together. Back 2 Black was her best album and Frank is great also. I don't see a third album coming out from her anytime soon, if ever. lol

Great list, BTW.

There's a new guy out, but I cannot remember his name. His videos have been posted here. One of them is set in Southern California, with the camera following him as he walks down the streets of Venice, meeting interesting people.

He's got a great, Motown sound.

U mean Jamie Lidell?

Tears For Fears ~ Shout

Howard Jones ~ Things Can Only Get Better

Madonna ~ Holiday, Like A Prayer, Like A Virgin, Dress You Up

Depeche Mode ~ Strangelove

Billy Vera & The Beaters ~ At This Moment

Manfred Mann ~ Blinded By The Light

Ambrosia ~ Biggest Part Of Me

Rupert Holmes ~ Escape (The Pina Colada Song)

Player ~ Baby Come Back

Romantics ~ Talking In Your Sleep (mostly the instrumental version with the vocoder chorus)

Yes ~ Owner Of A Lonely Heart

Duran Duran ~ Notorious
