The Tavares version is more soulful and upbeat while The Bee Gees version is a beautiful ballad. Completely different takes on the song, but both versions are equally great imo.

I can't choose. I honestly love them both.

I love both--like to hear them back to back.

Tavares, no question.

This is a tough one but I'm gonna with the Bee Gees version

Both good, but I have to go with the Bee Gees

I prefer both! One of the few versions that I can't honestly choose one over the other.

Oh I like them both honestly. The Tavares version is kinda like disco meets the O Jays. And The Bee Gees voices are just so distinctive.

I think it's cool that they used two versions of this song in the movie and on the soundtrack It gives us two different ways to enjoy it.

That's the scene that always comes to mind when I listen to that song as well. It was a poignant moment in the movie.

Interestingly,the Bee Gees version was never released as a single,but you would have thought it was a single if you were listening to the radio back then Their version got just as much airplay as the singles from the album.

The Tavares version did become a single.

Bee Gees version, of course...

Seriously, it's about mood...both versions are simply KILLER. It was great of the folks at RSO to keep both versions in the order they did.
