I didn't watch last night's broadcast, but I'm doubtful he granted a sit-down interview.

I watched it last night. I thought the performance was decent overall. I love El but thought he was a little off vocally. I've heard him sing better. On a shallow note, I was suprised to see how much weight Faith had put on. She lost a lot of weight a few years ago, but wow, was suprised to see how heavy she had gotten. She does have a beautiful voice though and I thought she sang well.

Faith has always been a big woman and El has been touring non stop, so i am not surprised about his voice. Hell, at least he was singing live.

To be fair, he's been constantly performing all across the US since October. However, u r correct. His voice was a tad off.

I set my clock so that I could wake up and watch El. I was excited to see him and agree that he was a little off, but still good just the same. I got the chance to see him in concert with Mary J Blige, a couple months ago, so I know how superb he is! I thought it was sweet the way he was handling Faith, a lady whom I like as an artist and who could use more exposure and credit for her voice.

Yes, she's picked up some pounds, but she's still pretty and talented.

He's on the Mo'Nique Show tonight.

I saw him perform twice last fall. His voice was perfect. It seemed like nerves had something to do with the performance being a little off.

I so love "When I See You" off El's new album. I hope he comes out West to perform...I can't travel any more--Prince used up my travel funds to NYC! lol

I am obsessed with the album. "When I See You" is gorgeous---just an old fashioned pretty love song. I really can't pick a favorite. I probably listen to "Close to You" the most. I love everything on it except for "The Other Side". There's just something almost too haunting about that song. It's good, but it makes me feel too sad.

"The Other Side" is a hauntingly sad song but I look at it as the prelude to "Second Chance" which is full of life and promise of a better future. He sings the whole album with his heart and soul in his voice, especially his most personal songs. Really inspiring! wink

Yeah he was off vocally but I don't think it's because he can't sing, I attribute it to being tired probably from all of the touring and promoting and then being nervous. Maybe if he would've stopped hopping around like a popcorn kernal, he could've sounded possibly better. lol

As far as Faith goes, I wasn't that surprised that she put on all the weight she lost back on. To me she still looks good. Just wait, J-Hud will probably be doing the same thing in the next couple of years.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I definitely agree with you. I think he's underrated too. When I talk about going to see him, or his new album, about 95% of people I know are like "Who?"

Another 3% says something like "El Debarge! Oh yeah! He sang "Who's Johnny?"

OK I just watched the performance... Um... Faith has gained weight and that's fine but the dress isnt really flattering which is the problem.

They seem to be so awkward together, like there's no chemistry which is unfortunate. I mean I don't expect them to be slobbering each other down on stage or anything like that but they look like they are barely friends. It's odd.

Oh I agree with you all about El's voice. The man can definitely sing and I know he's touring right now, so it's understandable why his vocals were a little strained.

I hear he's pretty good live though. I know he's touring with Kem. I'd like to see him.

Yeah, I think you hit it. There did seem to be an awkwardness, Faith seemed uncomfortable to me and El held her hand and sort of pulled her, like he was trying to bring her out. No chemistry. The song was rather intimate and I coudn't visualize it between them, though it's fantasy. I suppose the studio is one thing and being on stage, another. I still like the song and love them both, individually.

On the Monique show, did EL perform? I heard some of his interview and he gave the audience his CD. If he's ever done with performing, he should consider ministering. His testimony was very moving.
