Janet Rodeo Houston

Just saw the news and Jane will be performing at The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

It's not any radeo. It's the bigest event in Houston. There's cookoffs, festivals, horse shows, the livestock show and the trail ride-parade in the begining.

Bu hat's not even the main events. The main event is not your ordinary rodeo. It's the world's biggest and wildest held in an indoor sadium. it used o be in The Astrodome. There's HD screens, speakers, lights, pyro, and even at one time lasers. It goes for a month in Febuary and March. The start is Go Texan day in Houston. It's usually weeks of country-western stars. See there's an hour long performance afer every show. You go by the performer you wan to see. Well 3 of the shows aren't country. There's Pop/Rock day, Go Tejano Day focusing on Texas Mexican culture with a hispanic performer and black heritage day. Well this years black heritage day is going o be very special cause it's perhaps he rodeo's largest ever performer........Janet Jackson.

The sadium holds u to 70,000 though the field won't have seating. With her last tour half full I wonder if it's going to sellout.

My momma just called to tell me about this and I damn near had a heart attack! She'll have no problem selling it out though because the committee always book acts that bring in big numbers i.e. Beyonce, Miley Cyrus.

She could very well do 70K. The Rodea bings in alo of people and then there's the performer. Mary J.Blige and Beyonce filled i prety god. Ashanti and LLcoolJ broke a record. My only question is is she going to ride in on a horse?

Part of the crowd will prob. get tickets that day, just because they happen to be at the fair and saw her name up driving in. But she has a rep for past shows being kind of sexual, so I don't know if someone's going to want to bring their young kids to see her.

Elvis played there in '74, so I think he gets the "largest ever performer", because he was doing the big belt, cape, and jumpsuits around that time.

And of course, someone put some footage up on You Tube...

Yes Dalas knowin Janet you gota worry about her doing something sexual. Although its a conservative hivk rodeo hey let Fergie curse both pulled the camera up when LLcoolJ started gyrating a chair. Of course Janet got in trouble last time she was at his stadium during Superbowl.

Janet will be alone surrounded by a field of dirt. There will only bew a fw exemely high priced seats close to her. The next closest being will be horses. Although jackson's are freaks I don't think she'd be crazy enough to do it to one. She might just ride one although I'd like to ride her donkey ass.

Actually most people in Texas aren't cowboys or even wear westen wear. I know so litle about the western lifestyle hat whe I was at the livestock show and asking a "real texan" what the difference between a cbut and a steer was he looked at me like I was crazy. He's like"You don't know what a steer is??". I was like "No.". He replies" A steer is a bull with it's balls pulled off.". I look shocked and he confusedly asks me"are you a exa?" I explain"Yes I am but a modern Texan.". Very few f us live around barnyard animals.

I'm a native Texan and I wouldn't consider myself to be a "cowboy," but I do consider myself a tad country. That comes mostly from my rural upbringing.

We were referring to the fact that she is performing at a RODEO! At a rodeo, a lot of people wear their Wranglers and boots....cowboys or not.

I think Selena's last concert was at the Houston Rodeo.

You can take a black guy to Nashville from right out of the cotton fields with bib overalls, and they will call him R&B. You can take a white guy in a pin-stripe suit who’s never seen a cotton field, and they will call him country. ~ O. B. McClinton

Actually it's not that unusual to have something like that here in Texas.

There are a LOT of Black and Hispanic cowboys that live here. They maintain full ranches and farms. They all attend the big rodeos (like this one).

This rodeo pulls in really big names as well as up and coming acts. They usually have a Houston/Texas act on the bill every year. I think Erykah Badu has played it in the past. I know Beyonce has played it as a solo act and with Destiny's Child. Tamar has also played it (around 06 or 07 after 3121). They usually have the black acts performing on the Heritage night. NOt sure if Janet will perform on that night, though.

I see they have damn-near every major country act in America performing at the Rodeo this year. That tells me they are pulling in some major bucks and have some major sponsors.

Rascal Flatts

Tim McGraw

Keith Urban

Billy Currington

Trace Adkins

Sugerland

all on the bill

Selena Gomez is also slated to play the rodeo. giggle
