Usher’s ready to start a revolution.

The singer, who is currently in the early stages of recording his next album, is setting out to create a new genre of music on the follow-up to last year’s Raymond v. Raymond.

Instead of dipping into Euro-pop like he did in 2010, he is planning on making an album’s worth of “revolutionary pop.”

“I’m a consumer of culture and love mixing styles and inspirations, both in my music and my style,” the superstar told StyleList. “I’m working on a new genre of music—Revolutionary Pop—which combines several music genres to create a new sound experience.”

His Fauxhawk also reflects the style of music he wants to develop with his seventh studio album. “I love that people are talking about the new hair; it represents who I am now and the creative movement of Revolutionary Pop,” he stated.

Though details are scarce surrounding the new project, Usher will be teaming back up with songwriter Rico Love, who penned his recent hits “Hey Daddy (Daddy’s Home)” and “There Goes My Baby.”

Well he did say that he's under pressure to be the new MJ. I guess he feels that he has to change the game.

So between Usher and Beyonce we'll have to distinctive new genres of music!!

Anyone who mentions their new hair style in the same sentence as their new 'genre' of music is most definitely not creating a new genre of music!

What next? Yeah I just bought some new shoes, oh and my next video will be incorporating 4d. Yeah ok then.

Actually I thought he was done. Seems he's trying hard to get the same vibe and effect he had, during his early days with fans. Somehow I don't see that happening again.

i feel what usher is saying and what he wants 2 accomplish but if he wanna do that he cant do it with rico love. he needs something fresh maybe even a european producer who actually can play instruments and try some real stuff mixed with futuristic sounds.let go of the autotune and do something tottally unlike whats on the charts now yet relecting on the good elements.

advice take a year or so and just work on writing and crafting good music

Prince, Michael, Stevie etc. did not tell the world they were going to change the game. They just did it.

Remember back in the day, Dirty Mind just came out of nowhere. Total left turn. Off The Wall, SITKOL, ETC. Hell every time Prince released a album it was different. Even his hair, clothes, shoes etc. without saying a word. The man didn't even use his own name: The Starr Company, Jamie....

Dammit this needs to stop. People went to the damn movies to hear Prince's voice! Michael's producers were not telling the world how great new record would be. It just was. That shit was "REVOLUTIONARY" .

Hey Usher and Bey, you two need a special kind of talent to change the game, and there is no one at the moment with that kind of talent.

If only this statement were going to be true....

I'm not a huge Usher fan by any stretch but I would truly welcome something new and ground breaking from him or anyone for that matter. I'm not falling for it though. I bet his new album will sound just like his last album. Why can't these people follow through with their statements and really try somnething new?

Why is he talking about that common, played-out hair cut as if it's something new?

Talentless , Strange , cocky heifer

If he works with the same producers that he and his peers always do he will never create a new genre of music. Modern R & B desperately needs a kick in the ass but by doing the same thing and working with the same writers/producers Usher is not going to create anything truly new. I would be happy to be proven wrong but there is nothing in his past work that indicates that he is capable of creating groundbreaking music.
