It's from her official site actually. wink And it's not necessarily an album, just new music, I don't really expect her to go the 10-12 track album route again. But anyway, very exciting!!!

Why not? Her Live Nation deal pays her huge sums of cash to do just that.

Edit: Because as usual the Org gremlins came along and took one word out of my post. They have far too much time on their hands. lol

I just hope and pray beg she does another Ray of Light, Like A Prayer or American life type album.. hell even Erotica or Bedtime Stories!

I would love to see her be more experimental, and put out another great disc like Ray which she hasn't topped yet IMO

I also love American Life.. many will disagree but for me it's her 2nd best i love of it. Some of her best lyrical subject matter is on that album. I know people want the danceable stuff confused

But i want to see Madge do another Take A Bow, nothing Fails, Frozen, Promise To Try type track then another Into The Groove or Like A Virgin type track.

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

I'd like for her to do a more 'serious' album this time around.I love the fun, dancey stuff on COADF and Hard Candy, but this time I want her to tackle more serious themes. And how about some ballads this time around? She needs to make an album that isn't aimed only at the dancefloor.

Because she would need to strike separate deals for that, stuff like Prince has been doing with the Target and newspaper deals, it might not be viable enough. She had already said the recording industry does not exist as we used to know it so she might just put some songs on iTunes and perform them on tour. People will need to get used to that it's not gonna be an "era", but simply new music Madonna can tour with and for a show 8-9 new songs are usually enough for her.

Gunsnhalen & SoulAlive, you need to check her quote again, it states dance music, so don't expect anything revolutionary. The "serious" thing is totally overrated when it comes to Madonna, listen to the double disc of Celebration and tell me how many "serious" songs does it include. BTW, non-uptempo does not immediately make a song "serious".

Both COADF and HC were more than just "Hung Up" or "4 Minutes" and they did include personal lyrics, they might not be as direct as "Easy Ride" or "Mer Girl" but it's not like Madonna has to sing about fame or her mother's early death on every album. Plus I'm not sure after nearly 30 years in the biz why is she supposed to hang up the dance-pop that made her who she is (people often throw ROL as a counter-argument but the title track was a simple dance song Madonna didn't even write herself!). Not to mention "Devil Wouldn't Recognize You" is hardly something that's aimed for the dancefloor, regardless if Madonna referred to Hard Candy as a dance album, none of her albums have the same type of song repeated over and over again (though AL kinda came close to that with the excessive use of acoustic guitar).

As for a (insert previous album you prefer)-type record, not happening either, she never "went back", all of her albums are pop but she tends to make sure they don't sound that similar. Whichever you think was the greatest is a matter of preference, she's not gonna listen to every single fan and try to please every single one of them. razz

No,I'm not suggesting that she do more songs about her mother's death and the price of fame lol I just want something a little more meaningful than "catch me on the floor".She's been through alot during the past few years (divorce, new love, adopting a new child, leaving Warners, etc),surely she can find some important stuff to sing about? Soul-searching,new outlook on life and love, starting over, etc.I'm not saying that she has to get all boring and conservative.'Serious' songs can be fun too ("Papa Don't Preach","Ray Of Light","Sky Fits Heaven","What It Feels Like For A Girl",etc).

I did'nt really like her last next to last single Celebration. I thought the vocals were weak and the lyrics were pretty shitty. Keep in my mind she is my favorite next to Prince. I hope she does'nt just throw some songs out there with that typical dance beat and be done with it. I love COADF. She should go in a direction like that. Dancey yet thoughtful. Sticky and Sweet rocked to.

I didn't like "Celebration" (the song) either. That's exactly the type of played-out dance stuff that I want her to avoid on the new album.

I think "Hard Candy" was made with the tour in mind, she just recorded songs she could imagine performing on tour which is probably why the horrid "Spanish Lessons" was included and why "Animal" was left out. I hope she takes a different approach this time, make songs for the sake of making songs and then think about what you perform on tour not the other way round

I do see your point but it's not like most of those stuff can be directly put into pop music by someone like Madonna, i.e. the charity work or the Warner leaving. Even on ROL it's not like all the songs were about motherhood and stuff, but "regular" songs without a particular message, like "your heart is not open" etc. And in fact her starting over seems to be including younger men so the catch me on the floor or the my sugar is raw is not as far-fetched as you'd think. biggrin I understand there's a difference between serious and conservative but she still has to pay attention at what has mass-appeal and the average listener won't care to hear what Madonna thinks of her divorce or something, and the divorce itself was properly hinted at Hard Candy so she probably moved on from that.

Considering Madonna signed her contract with a touring company instead of renewing with Warner, plus her comments about "you can't download a live performance", a different approach is practically out of question. Like I said, she will most likely limit to recording songs that she will perform as well, so no "fillers" in that sense of the word, and the gap between music release and tour will be as short as possible. I also think making songs for the sake of performing them live is the more traditional and relevant way than "making songs that hopefully radio stations will play and people will buy them".

When the outtakes leaked, I remember saying "Animal" was cut because on tour it would have been a rehash of "Future Lovers". It's possible she actually preferred "Spanish Lesson" though. razz

it's a shame that she rejected the song "Animal".I think it's one of her strongest songs of recent years. Some fans took that song and used it as the basis for a compilation of recent outtakes.

She needs to do a straight up funk album and throw in some vibes, harps and plucked guitar. Something different!

She should go the Robyn "Body Talk" route. Or just straight up funk! Maybe more guitars. I think its time for a rock funk album. You can "dance" to rock and funk. She should also do one more ballad to appease the radio folks. Doesn't she have more ballad hits than dance hits? I definitely do not want an all ballads album though.

No, sorry, her hip-hop experiments in Hard Candy didn't work. Not again, please. Next.

and I doubt she will release a "funk-oriented" record... her "funk" sound died in 1984...

It did somewhat work, give maddy a break smile She did well, just got poor promo. There is no excuse for why Beat Goes On wasn't released. Kanye was hot and that beat was like her old days.

Madonna gets MASSIVE amounts of cash from Live Nation for each album, which they then recoup through her extremely profitable tours. Believe that she will be releasing more full length albums.
