I am on pins and needles waiting for her album to be delivered to my door! Her first album was the soundtrack to my senior year of high school.

A bit boring. Her voice sounds rougher these days, as if she's damaged it. Not good.

how is vanity 6 connected? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

That's what I wanted to know too! If it breaks when it bends, U better not put it in!

Apparently the song's original title as announced back in January was "Vanity Six"
The hook goes like this: “Just play my favorite song, get my ’86 on/Don’t make me wait too long, just play my favorite song/I’ll get my Vanity Six on.”
But whatever links were fresh when the thread was started have been taken down. The album is out November 30 though, cop dat.

The final hook goes like this:
"Don't make me wait too long/Just play my favorite song/I'll get my Vanity Six on."
Glad whoever realized Vanity Six peaked and tanked in 1982.

And Jazmine was born in `87 so I'ont know how she supposed to get her '86 on anyway.
I finally heard it on this soundcloud stream:

This discussion reminds me of Kanye's Stronger.
"You know how long I've been on ya?
Kanye has been "on ya" since '84 and '94. Doesn't make any sense to me! "Keep in mind that I'm an artist...and I'm sensitive about my shit."--E. Badu

80s styled tracks need to remember this crucial element.

Yeah, but those were sampled, not played.
It ain't like those guitar players don't need the work

It ain't like those guitar players don't need the work The guitar players are busy playing all the parts in one take for today's wack rock bands who don't appear on their own albums. At least that rhythm part is in there! Usually it's just a drum machine with one added Linn rimshot and someone died with their hand playing one key on a non-vintage synth talmbout "isn't this so 80s?". (Ie. The Dream)

Another Prince influenced track from Carlos McKinney aka Los Da Mystro. For those that don't know this is the guy behind all the Dream sounding Prince jams. I'm diggin this... sounds good having a real singer on his beats for a change. Bringing Together Five Decades of R&B/Funk/Soul/Dance
