This song knocked my socks off when I first spun The ArchAndroid. One of the prime examples why Janelle Monae is a music goddess.

I saw her at the Stevie Wonder concert few week's ago. Girl was amazing!, she can sing, she can dance, she's weird and quirky ala Bjork & Grace Jones & can sing ballads, rock songs, dance song's.

She has Little richard looking hair and perfect teeth lol

Needless to say went out and bought the Arc android very next day.. was not disappointed bow

From the grooving faster to the beautiful Cold War. The epic BabBopYa and this song... the whole album was a win. I am so hoping this girl does not become to mainstream, i love her so much right now.

Pistols sounded like "Fuck off," wheras The Clash sounded like "Fuck Off, but here's why.."- Thedigitialgardener

All music is shit music and no music is real- gunsnhalen

Great album, one of (if not) the best album released this year.

Outstanding live performer too.

I can't get enough.

This song and "BaBopBye Ya" was just beyond mindboggling for me. But the whole album was incredible and epic as hell. Didn't think know she would bring it to that level after her amazing Metropolis EP. Definitely one of top albums of this year alone, and the most thrilling as well.

Yeah me too. She really gotta do something even more out of the box for this final suite. How about a massive double album this time around?

Oh yes please, i think what will be even more interesting is what she will come up with once the fourth suite is released, a totally new sound and look?

I think she is more than capable of many surprises yet.

I love that song too nod

And I absolutely love love love looooooooove the fact that she used Charles Burnett's masterpiece Killer Of Sheep as one of the references she used to draw her inspiration from during the process of the movie. Call me crazy(and I told this previously to JackieBlue), but I sense some Octavia Butler influence in there as well.

You could tell the project was done out of love, not for the purpose of making an epic.

I love a great double album so I agree. Of course in the vinyl era The ArchAndroid would have been a double album. If she releases her next album as a two hour plus double cd it would be the equivalent of a vinyl quadruple album. That would indeed be massive!

Wait...

What "final" suite? You mean, the ArchAndroid is part of a series of other concept projects?

This is the only thing I own from her, which explains why I'm kinda lost here.

The EP was suite I and The ArchAndroid was suites II & III.

Cool, thanks.

There is also her very first album titled "The Audition." It is not part of the four suites, but even on that album she is singing of cyborgs and Cindy Mayweather. It is a great album.

The album was never officially released, but is out there if you know where to look.....ahem.

Yes, the first album is certainly worth tracking down. It's of very high quality and it is deserving of an official release.

I agree 100%.

I have heard that Janelle had copies of this album pressed and sold them at her early gigs, before she signed with Bad Boy Records.

Original copies must be worth quite a bit.
