totally agree on that, i think Ronson totally nailed it, Lebon sounds amazing and i swear hasnt lost a step in 30 years (nothing like these 80's bands schooling the new jacks).

I remained a fan all these years because of LeBon and I agree. At one time DD was Simon and Nick only from original lineup. Remember that? John had left before "Medazzaland" came out in 1997.

Oh hell yeah, going from that into the Pop Trash era, which i know some hate, but i kind of will always have a soft spot for that era, catching them at the Beacon Theatre being 3rd row center, and there was alot circulating, video wise, during that era, it was very very indie, im hoping that will be carrying over to this era. Honestly though, I really did miss John, not that i didnt miss Andy and Roger back in the day, but when John left i didnt think they could hold it together, mainly because John and Nick were so close earlier in life, but i think that Warren was the glue that held this band all those years, possibly one of the greatest "replacements" for any band in the history of music!

yeah one of my fave shows, used to know this guy who worked at Record Runner on Jones St. in NYC, shit i forgot his name, he left the store about 7-8 years ago, but DD did some walk in's at that store, and Warren was tight with them too. Im curious if something similar will happen like that when this album comes out in the physical form, those are the types of stores i feel bad for with "digital" things

I used to go to Record Runner all the time! Great place for 80's artists for sure.

Yeah one of my fave stores of all time! still pop in now and again, kind of like that "artist" u have to support, you know. As for the DD beacon show, that was pure luck i got that good a seat, i was glad it was a seating venue this time, i went to the Roseland Meddazaland show, and that was a great show, but some jerks snuck in cut infront of us, and actually started some sort of mosh pit? and i was like, u know this is Duran Duran not Korn right?

I've been kinda checking out the catalog lately...I like Medazzaland and Pop Trash. I know it's not the classic line up but I still like them for what they are. And I do really like the new one as well. Good stuff.

Wonder why they never asked Warren back in the band after Andy split again? Curious.

I dont know about that, i do miss Warren, wasnt shocked that Andy didnt stick around since DD to me at least never came off as a "rock" guitar band, and Andy wanted to be that kind of player, Warren fit better i think. I just think asking him back would be weird since they kind of asked him to step aside for the reunion

Warren was very eclectic and experimental which I really liked. Not to mention a great guitar player. I guess that's why I've been enjoying those albums with him. Dom Brown though good, seems kind non descript. I dunno.

Yeah, that would have been awkward to ask Warren to come back.

Here's the video for "All You Need Is Now." I really like "Leave A Light On" as a first-listen love. Beyond that, it might take a few more listens.

The album is fantastic, I gave it a listen last week. But I ain't downloading, I think I'll wait for the physical release

i'll have to cop this. always was a fan but only owned Greatest previously. copped RCM and enjoyed it then got Rio and found that I hadn't missed much (other than the singles) besides My Own Way

Just purchased the title track.

Im not sure of that, so many stories have circulated, but i just think it was becoming unnecessary for him to begin with, RCM album was a direction i dont think he wanted to go with, the rumoured, scrapped album, i think it had alot to do with Andy and directions to go. I think back to the Behind THe Music special where John said "The Power Station" was really for Andy, because he felt he wasnt used on the albums much.

Andy said in his autobiography that Nick was the main reason he left the 2nd time, and part of the reason he left the 1st time. He also said there were some problems with the group's management as a factor in leaving the 2nd time. Something to do with them not getting Andy a visa to work in the US.

I honestly don't miss him, he's in the past as far as I'm concerned.

I know I'm in the minority, but I miss Andy again. I loved his rock sound in the early releases. Difference of direction, opinion, and clashes between him and Nick was prolly enough for him. He needs to chil and focus on his health anyway. Astronaut felt right with everybody back, and that meant alot to this fan. I know the concensus of the fanbase is good riddance. I've been able to move on musically speaking, but I'll never accept anybody in his place.

I get annoyed when everytime they release a new cd, the media treats it as a comeback. How many times do they have to comeback from a 2-3 year hiatus? They get treated as if they released new material once a decade.

In all honesty DD always hit me as a trio, John,Simon and Nick. On certain tracks guitar and drums come through, but im not trying to slight Andy or Roger, but, really, it wasnt a major loss to them as a band. I think that is the clash between Nick and Andy, mainly in the sounds of the band, but in this band i feel it does come down to Lebon and Rhodes as the decision makers. It was like when the Bass Player from Bon Jovi got fired, people thought it would hurt them because they were at a changing period as a band, it was the 90's, grunge was in, but, did anyone even notice he was gone? i think the key is that Jovi doesnt allow their bass player (hugh macdonald) who has been there longer than the original was, they dont put his face on the covers, he technically is a hired studio musician for the last 17 years
