Was 1986 The Best Year In The 80's For Music? I was listening to "I Cant Wait" by Nu Shooz, and I was like,"OMFG, 86' was the year." You had Janet Jackson,Ready For The World etc...was 86' the best year?Or was it 84'? Being Cool Is Not A Look Or Style,It's A Personality

Its pretty tough but i have to say that 1983-1987 were on fire!! possibly the best five year span of a decade, just for the diversity and creation and shit, the talent "We went where our music was appreciated, and that was everywhere but the USA, we knew we had fans, but there is only so much of the world you can play at once" Magne F

If we're talking about music in general (regardless of genres), the best years for 1980's music was definitely between 1983 and 1987.

1986 was somewhat improvement from 1985 but I prefer 1980-84, but I also like 1988-89 music though.

In the UK, most classic 80s albums contain mostly 1981 to 1985. The rest seems to be forgotten which I think is unfair.Personally, I loved 82-83, 86-87. .
